The Morphs are getting imported, but the bones rigging has become all weird now.
...hey, but I can fix that (as compared to making morph targets again)...so I guess the problem's solved :)

Heeeee, You guys are way well off. I have got: 1. A celeron 2.4 GHz 2. 1 GB RAM 3. 40 GB HDD (Seagate 5400 RPM) 4. Use Poser6 SR1 (Photoshop 6) I must be lucky...coz My comp runs Poser quite well. Seriously no probs. As a matter of fact a classmate of mine, runs her Poser6 on a P1.4GHz...and both of us have no compplaints.

If you want a still softer highlight on the sphere I suggest you increase the intensity of the middle light and decrease the intensity of the other lights. Also, mking them directional saves some rendertime.

I have 1GB RAm, Celeron 2.4, 1.3 GB Swap and I render to 3000X3000 without any probs whatsoever, 2 -3 figures too. Has to be the swap file problem!

Light in the real world does not emit from a point, but every source has some area, and thus ya get Area shadows?
To get something close to area shadows, put up 6-8 lights where you want your box light. make the ones on the edge raytrace hard shadows with low shadow density and the ones at the centre soft shadows with low shadow density.

Of course, you don't need so many lights. A spot and 3 directional lights give a good approximation.

"AO gives soft area shadows similar to the effect you see with GI or HDRI." Oh my god! Why the hell did they take the trouble of making GI and HDRI then, (knowing that even with Brazil / Vray/ Final Render/ Maxwell), it takes hours and hours to get a good GI render? AO lets you simulate GI and HDRI to some extent, Lets just say AO is the Poor Man's GI /HDRI :)

Well, Xp does handle more than 2GB of RAM. Never heard of this problem before? Some motherboards don't support more than 2 GB of RAM, So check your boards specs. But if it boots allright it works allright(in most cases). I had a strange problem with Poser that on rendering large images, I sometimes got the eroor ...Dumping Physical Memory...and then alovely bluescreen and then reboot. The problem was with one RAM chip of mine. Had some defctive rows. If your sys shows something similar, check your RAM. Also Poser uses a lot of Virtual Mem. So make sure that you have windows manage your page file size automatically. That way whenever poser needs more mem windows grants it more(And also alerts you that its doing so). Hope that helps :)

I agree that CL / Daz / Renderosity are way better than Turbosquid and 3d02. You might call it stupid, but a friend of mine recntly purchased Masha from 3d02 @ $189. And I must say though the figure was impressive, you get content nearly as good as Masha with Poser, for 1/10 the cost. And the stuff at Daz is also very reasonably priced. But thats not the point, Its not about don't buy anything...its about try doing it yourself if you can and tell others how to do it. Back over in the Max community, I had people helping and I don't once recall anyone suggesting a plugin product to get good results(To save time, sometimes yes)...rather everyone said "Shit, you don't need to buy a plug for that, try doing this instead"...even though most people using Max can afford to buy $500 content(If they can spend $3500 on Max, $1200 on Brazil..)and thats how you groom new users up and build a strong user community. So the next time someone asks "Hey, how did ya do that? Its better to reply I changed the Spec like this, The Trans like this...". rather than "Just dload that scrip and do it". ..And yes face_off's done a great job putting up that tut for real skin. It helped me a lot(Although I am a Procedural Skin Only guy), and for that I will always be thankful....but one must also remember, the skin tuts and the supporting files at CGtalk, Highend3D (And even the tut face_off's tut is based on) are all free. The real skin shader is ofcourse a great product for Poser and has brought never before seen realism to Poser renders.(I too own a copy :)) So the msg is, as long as its not against some damned copyright / illegal, share .pz3's as a lot of people like me probably wonder how people like face_off get 100 times as good renders using the same product, and in some cases the same base files as we noobs do! And can I mod a body and set its UVs the same as M3 / James so that the textures are compatible? Would that be somekind of copyright issue? And can I use James as a base for modding a new figure (keeping the UV's same)? Would that lead to some copyright violation? Coz that would really save a lot of time! Thanks :)

And the head and the body, and if I mange to make morph targets would be available for free. If not in Poser(Coz I don't know how to do it for Poser), then atleast in Max format. I will try to post the OBJ of the head and the body as soon as I tweak 'em right and they are not looking vey bad. Thanks :) ...And yes make more stuff available for free. The more you give, the more you get!

Well, If you have decided to get yourself a 3D program specifically for human form, then Poser might be it. Poser 6 definitely. Poser artist is a bit outdated :) But I suggest you see DAZ studio once, its free, at www.daz3d.com. But if you are not specifically looking for human figure related stuff, I may suggest Truespace. And please also have a look at Wings 3d. Its free and quite good. But if you want Poser, go for Poser 6.
