Excellent. I found Pd30 explorer but I noticed there were also plugins. Do I need the plug ins as well or will the Explorer take care of the conversion. Thanks! You're a lifesaver!

GraphicConverter is shareware? When I went to the site, it looked like you HAD to register for $30. Maybe I misread the terms. I got the link via Rabbit Hole. Is there another link I should try?

Actually, the problem I am having is that Poser doesn't seem to properly convert the .jpg files to bump files for use with my Jade character. Poser WILL convert other .jpgs with no problem, but there is something about the Jade files that it doesn't like. It will prompt me to convert, and then it will go through the motions of converting, but it never actually creates a .bum file. I hate to spend $30 on an image converter program when I shouldn't have to.

Well, I'm having problems with a particular jpg to bump conversion with my JADE character. There is one jpg it just won't convert. i don't know why.

Thanks for all the help. Things are getting better! I have all the DazV3 texture problems worked out. Odd thing, it seems that Poser only wants to convert a couple of .jpgs to .bumps in a session. I had to restart Poser to get through all the conversions. I am still having trouble with one conversion for my Jade character. I get the convert prompt, I can see the coversion taking place (via the progress bar) but when it's done, it hasn't created the bumpmap version of the file anywhere on my computer. Do you know of any other image coverter program that I may be able to use to convert jpg to bump? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Well, I didn't use Mac Installer because my first purchase (Vic 3 by Daz) came with it's own installer and seemed to work fine. For the Jade character, however, the readme file said the only thing I had to do with the Mac was to convert the bumpmap files and everything should work. The icons in the !!Nherve menu appear just fine and all the files are in the proper directory but they just don't seem to be linking correctly. Perhaps I should retry installing Jade via the Mac Installer?

Well, I eventually did do this through the materials window. But even after I did the conversion, I would still get the same message(can't find specified bumpmaps). Very odd. I remember another post that mentioned a program that makes sure the folder structures are correct. I may try that. It's so odd because all the files are recognized in the list as the proper formats but they just don't seem to make it into the render. I will have to play around with it. I have tried mat files in the poser menu but they just seem to hang up the program. I think I need to go one step at a time. As for Goddess hair, I have pumped up the memory for Poser quite a bit, but I will try to max it out and see what happens. THANKS!

Thanks for asking! The answers to all your questions are..YES. I bought Jade here at Renderosity and used Mac converter (but I did not use Mac Installer). I have Victoria 3 as well as the head and body paks to go along with it. Get some sleep and if you think of anything, let me know. Thank you!

I will try the bum-files process you suggested. I was only in the texture menu so that may be why the "convert" option never came up. As for the textures, when I hit "load" I see the Jade.jpgs listed in the list as well as the thumbnail but when I click open, nothing happens. The window dissappears and I am back to the Materials window and the texture is still listed as "no texture".
