"there is an update to V3 Male Pak. Did you get that?"
Yes, DAZ emailed me with a link to a full installer for the V3 Male Pack a few weeks ago.
Thread: V3 MOR pose problem: Dial values do not load | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you Jaager. Once I pluged in the corrected values it worked great.
Is there a table published somewere with the correct channel names for V3 morph dials? I was able to find some by tracing the ".pz2" to their "targetGeom" - but that was rather time consuming.

Thank you.
Sadly that can not be it, since I have the latest Curious Labs Service pack applied. But I appreciate the suggestion.
Thread: Error - Requested window size too large.....? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I ran across the same error about a week ago, but can't remember exactly how I got rid of it. I think the problem had to do with Poser not remembering my interface settings, so when a large work area was requested there was no clear space to put it. Try lauching Poser directly by clicking on the "Poser.exe" file in your Poser 4 folder. If you don't see the error message, then it's a good bet that the shortcut that Curious Labs put in your Start Menu Group is faulty. (I'm assuming you are using a PC). To fix just deleat this shortcut, and put a one that you made in there.
If that does not work try going back to the "factory presets" to get your work area back.
Thread: Wondering where this photorealistic thing is going | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote:"It's possible to paint so that the result looks like a photo, but most artists don't try, even if they could achieve it. The argument goes, why bother? If you want a photo, take a photo."
Take a look at the work of some turn of the century painters like Bouguereau, Gerome, or Frederick Church. The work may look "real" like a photo, but that is where the similarity ends. A good painter can alter every element a picture while still retaining the illusion of reality - photographers can't do this. Photography and realistic painting are not necessarily the same thing. I know much of this is a rehash of my earlier post, but so many people belittle realistic art work with the comment "If you want a photo, take a photo."
Is this a photograph?:

If you answered yes, then you are seeing the world in a very limited way.

Got to correct a typo:
"...photorealistic Poser work is more closely related to classical painting THAN photography."
Thread: Wondering where this photorealistic thing is going | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think a photorealistic Poser work is more closely related to classical painting that photography. A photographer has to accept some limitations because he is dealing objects that can not be changed at whim. In contrast, painters (and people working in Poser) can pretty much alter anything in the picture. - Well, that is not entirely true with Poser, but things are improving.
The end result of these improvements are fewer limits on what you can do with creativity.
Somehow myth got started in this culture that realism and creativity are mutually exclusive. Just the opposite is true. The ability to do realistic artwork is what FREES creativity.
Thread: Hairline on the DAZ Morphing Blunt Cut | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, I was real impressed with the review on critical-depth.com.
Such a pity about that hairline, otherwise it seems like a great product. Maybe if I were to try fiddling with the transparency map up there I might get something more realistic.
Good hair is so hard to find. Thanks for posting those pictures.
Thread: V3 body morph poses...no effect? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you loaded all the morphs into V3, I would think it would work.
I have been doing the same thing, but the approach I use is slightly different. I make a MOR pose from the CR2, and then add the "Readscript" information at the beginning of the file to load the needed morphs:
http://www.rbtwhiz.com/rbtwhiz_rScript.html
What I like about this is I only load the morphs I need - I assume that speeds things up.
So far as I know, DAZ is AOK with distributing MOR poses for their figures.
Thread: Reviews for "Environment Creator Deluxe Version 2" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to disagree with you there. That symmetrical shadow problem shows up even when the pose is not symmetrical. I would say its them most one of the most common problem with Poser renders. Take a look at some of the heads posted in the Market Place and you will wince.
If you look at classical figure paintings you rarely see a strong shadow on both sides of the nose (see illustration above). Same goes for portraits - equally shading both sides of the nose is cardinal sin.
Good point on the nose glow, but I can fix that in Photoshop without much trouble.
Thread: Making a DVD | Forum: Poser Technical
DVD resolution can vary depending upon whether it is PAL or NTSC signal. I think it is possible for a DVD to use MPEG1 compression, everything I have seen has used MPEG 2.

Thread: Poser 4.03 not saving user preferences | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That seems to have worked for me too. What I did was delete the shortcut that the Curious Labs installer puts in my start menu group, and placed own shortcut to Poser.exe in there.
So far, it's saving the position of ALL the user interface elements. THANKS!

I was hunting throught the Renderosity Marketplace looking for those "portrait" backgrounds that look like a faint cloud or mist pattern. What are you using for a background in the first photo you posted? That looks like the product I was searching for.
Thread: V3 Male Morph Pak faces not working | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the responses, that solves the mystery.
Unfortunately, I have not heard a peep out of DAZ about the availability of this fix. You would think they would email their customers who puchased the V3 Male Morphs and notify them.
Has anyone found the download link yet?
