Hi,
Are you using WinXP? If so it's apparently something to do with the built-in "messenger service". Try this ...
It seems to work but you have to do it each time you restart, which is rather annoying, as Windows turns it back on by default.
Hope this helps!

Thread: Looking for a good Sword and Scabbard | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just purchased the excellent Titanium Blades by KODesign here : http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=17125 . They look great! Also check out the other sword packs available from the same seller. I'm sure to be buying those soon too!
Thread: Upgrade to P5 or buy DAZ figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm still using Poser 4 too (with Pro Pack), with the DAZ figures and I'm not even considering getting Poser 5 to be honest. I'm eagerly awaiting the new Daz Studio though as that's sure to compliment the figures nicely :-)
Does anyone have a rough idea what sort of P4/P5 ratio of users there are on here? Just curious as I would like to know how many P5 users I'm neglecting when developing my add-ons!
Thread: LandZone now available ... | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Here I have used the "LandZone Region A" prop 3 times, scaling each one differently and using various morph settings. If you place them right then they seem to blend into each other and it looks like just one single landscape.
I've used the default texture and bump map provided with this prop, but have used a strong color-cast in the lighting setup to give it a deep red alien-planet feel to the scene. The only other element used here is a sky texture mapped onto my freeware "WaverWall" prop in the background.
This is basically the pure Poser render with very little post-work (I adjusted the contrast very slightly). The scene only took a few seconds to render at 600x600 resolution so even using 3 terrains in your scene at a time shouldn't slow things down too much.
Anyway it gives you some idea the kind of effects you can achieve very quickly and easily with the LandZone props.
Thread: INJ and REM morphs question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
Thanks for the info, much appreciated! I don't know if the INJ/REM stuff will be suitable to add to my projects yet but I'm just trying to find some info so I can decide if it will work or not.
I'm working on quite a few ideas for Poser add-ons at the moment, relatively simple stuff to begin with (like my LandZone props with multiple morph targets built-in) ... but I'd like to create other things later including some basic "fantasy creature" characters.
Of course I'm still learning a lot of this 3D stuff as I go along, so there's a long way to go yet! But just thought it was worth asking a few questions in this forum to find out some important info such as this.
Thanks again to everyone who has responded to this message!
Thread: LandZone - Morphing Terrain Prop | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
It shows an example of using the prop to create a small 3D mountain/rock background for the main figure. The sky is just a 2D image mapped onto a backdrop.

I am currently experimenting with various high-res V3 textures at the moment so would be more than pleased to try out any new ones! See my gallery pages for some examples (I will be adding more images soon). I would be glad to help in any way that I can, so please feel free to ask anytime. Keep up the excellent work. Also, try loading an additional spikey hair prop and rotating it, if you want to add more hair. I tried this myself last night and it works OK but can slow things down if you go too wild and load many copies of it! This prop mesh is quite big in size, despite being a simple idea. I tried reducing it but ends up looking too jagged. So I'm limited to what I can do with this particular model. I'll be trying out some new hair prop ideas later though.

Quick responses ... I'm still experimenting with the hair and will probably make a few different variations before it's ready. Yes, the body will be textured in the final version. I just haven't got around to it yet! Thanks for the 3D apps info. I'm trying out a few different ones at the moment but haven't found any that really suit me yet. I'll keep looking though. Thanks for all your comments. Cheers.

Thanks for the tip ... Yes, I like the idea of maybe doing an "earth-fire-air-water" kind of pack!

I don't have the Low-Res Vicky model to test it with at the moment I'm afraid, so have no idea how my skin would look on it.
I'll probably release a free low-res version of the skin for people to try out anyway! Watch this forum for more info in the coming weeks.
As for looking "too friendly" at the moment, not all alien creatures are nasty you know! He, he. I'll be making different poses and facial expressions later, ranging from nice and friendly to downright ugly and scary ... That should keep most of you happy!
