Thread: Donald, 10D ? for ya | Forum: Photography
Cool. Thanks Donald for the help. Picking up my camera and grip Wednesday. Finally, been waiting forever and then some. How do you like the 28-135 IS? I got mine a couple weeks ago but haven't tried it out yet. I figured I could wait another week and get used to both at the same time. But the new toys will get quite a workout.

I've been looking into this too with my digital camera just 3 weeks away now.
iMatch seems promising and to have all the features and more that I was looking for at the right price, 49.95. Heres the link for you if you want to check it out. iMatch
Cumulus looks promising as well but not sure if I like the look of it as well. But downloaded the demo for it as well to see which I like better. It runs at 69 I believe. Cumulus
Presently I use ACdsee and I knew it would leave me wanting for more.
Hope this helps. Doug :)

Sorry about that... Forgot it added it in..Thread: Some digital handtinting | Forum: Photography
Ummmm, thanks everyone. Not sure what to say now. Ya'll have left me speechless. I found that I really enjoy doing it. Thinking I will be bugging my mom for the old family photos to practice on over the winter now that I have one under my belt. For all those who asked I will post the colors and layer info in a new thread. I hope it helps. Donald, I love that shot and the way you colored it. A most excellent job. Thanks again.. :) Doug

Thread: Need Advice On Lighting Set-Ups | Forum: Photography
Not giving them up quite yet. I will probably always use them for wedding formals and other things. Mainly cause they're reliable, very light, optional battery for use outdoors. Thinking more for along the lines of in the studio for continuous for the ease of use. When I get my 10D I want the convienence of continuous. Like when shooting a 2 year old who wants to wander about the studio or across the backdrop. Rather than waiting for the strobe to recharge and perhaps miss a one time expression I'd rather be able to just shoot a little more freely. I will probably buy a couple of continuous units to compliment my set up of bees I have. And probably will buy more further down the line as I get more determined about going solo. But first it's see if I even like them. :) Doug

Hey Michelle And now the fun begins. Glad to hear you're going for it. I'm using alien bees for my own personal use right now. The price was right and came recommended from some shooters I know. However, seeing as how I am getting my 10D next month I am also going to switch over to continuous lighting when more funds are available. But for now the bees are doing great for me. They're light and easy to set up, thinking about the battery for them so I don't have to worry about cords getting tripped over. At work we use photogenics, I like them but don't like the price tag. But, personally, I think one light, one of those white, silver, gold and black reflectors and a stand to hold the reflector and a good meter and you'd be set until you decide what you really need and want or decide you don't need more than that (but I doubt it, one can never have too many toys). And you can easily get all those for under $700 and get good quality as well. Best of Luck :) Doug
Thread: Velvia 100 F anyone? | Forum: Photography
Hey Michelle. I couldn't find the article. Boss must have taken home. But in frustration of not knowing and needing to know, seeing as how I loves velvia 50, I called up some customers service reps at fuji pronet. I was told they have no intentions of getting rid of velvia 50, which was music to my ears. Apparently they are getting quite a lot of calls on this from many disgruntled 50 lovers. Can we can only see what happens. Doug :)

From what I read 50 is soupposed to stick around. In the article I read said it was to give velvia lovers a faster velvia while keeping the orignial as well. I'll find the article Monday for you, it's at work.
I will be posting a roll of the velvia 100F I shot towards the end of the week. I have to mail it to a lab and mailed back.
I have heard some say they could have used provia with the same results. So I'll just have to wait and see.. Wish I could have been of more help.

Well star it's like this. It's the age old comic routine of little sister casting her line and big brother not paying attention to what she is doing. It kinda looks like a Rapala lure, not sure though. I think you're right on the tree bsteph, I'll take it out. At first I thought it looked okay but then sees that it's too distracting. Thanks Doca, are you and my better half in cahoots? She tells me that all the time. Not sure I want to test the thoery. L Thanks everyone.
