I just started to learn Daz Studio. I have 4.9. I am a long-time Poser user since Poser 4 up to Poser 11. Everything in Daz Studio is confusing, especially where the MAT files are for a product. In the content library on the RH side both figure and MAT files are mixed with each other. Same for poses. Also, new stuff is buried somewhere I can't find. Like new expressions installed themselves mixed up with other packages of poses. Very frustrating. Is there someway to find products easily? Like the MAT files that go with a certain hair? Thanks

I use all three. V5, V6 and V7. Daz isn't doing it now so it was just a glitch I guess, Thanks

PS. I am running Daz Studio 4.9 on an Intel i7 3.3 ghZ, with an NVidia 4 gig graphics card and 64 gigs of regular RAM. Windows 7 64 bit. Daz Studio 64 bit.

Daz recommends 64 gigs of RAM. I had no problem with it working, I just hate it. I much prefer Poser Pro 2012. I takes too long to render (Daz) I can't find anything. and now the fit to box only has the old characters like V4 in it so I can't conform any wardrobe to genesis. I can't figure that out at all.

I'm still working on it. I can't often find the render settings. It seems they change with each figure. I wish there was a new -up-to-date book on Daz Studio. I buy things for Daz Studio from Rendo and then I can't find them in the content. Like a new pose set from Ironman. It just does not show up.

I don't have any Poser content installed in Studio. Everything was set up for Studio. Daz had me reset the library content and reinstall the metabase ? and no nothing is there. Also, before I rest there was content in the content libary, but it would not apply. It said error. Could not dress the figure or anything. The only thing that works is Daz stuff under Smart Content. Please make sure you install the PostgreSQL CMS. You can find this in the Install Manager when searching for "sku::18869" without the quotes. If it is already installed, uninstall and re-install.

Make sure DAZ Studio is not running during this process.

If you are running the 64 bit version of DAZ Studio, there is no need to install the 32 bit version of PostgreSQL. By installing the 32 bit version, it is automatically uninstalling the 64 bit version. In this process, it must stop the CMS. If the CMS is stopped, then tries to install the 32 bit with it stopped, it in some cases, this crashes the Install Manager. And causes the Smart Content to not work correctly.

Reimport Metadata With the box checked that userdata overwrites product data. To do this, right click on the Content Library pane, choose Content DB Maintenance, tick Re-Import Metadata, click Accept. Tick User Data and All Products and click Accept.

Okay. I think there is two places for the products. Smart Content which is linked to your figure, and then content some other place I can't find. Also, under edit there is no backdrop menu like the .pdf for Quick Start tutorial says. At least not in 4.8 The tut is for 4.6. How do I get a backdrop behind my scene? THanks

they are daz specific. the downloads say they are for Daz Studio. I put them in Daz Studio, My Library, data, etc by each folder that matches.

Thank you. I will try all that. Right now I installed a bunch of new free stuff and none of it shows up. Where do I look for it?
