That's good news about getting both OS 9 and OS X for $149. I still don't have OS X on any of my machines. Hoping they have a sale on G4 dual 1 GHz soon.

For Mac users, do we get both the OS 9 and the OS X version ona hybrid CD for $149? Or do we have to buy them separately?
Thread: Mac Tip for Using the Huge Free BVH Archive Files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The double-space thing might be related to line feeds. I think there's a command in BB-Edit that strips them out, or maybe it's the "zap gremlins" command (yes, there is such a command). When you run a bvh file with a blank icon through Maconverter, you get the same kind of action as with obj files - it becomes a Windows text file (TEXT, mdos) with one of those blue PC icons. BVH files seem to work as long as they're (TEXT, mdos) or (TEXT, ttxt).

Only $35 for night-vision binocular head-set with illuminator? Where do we place our orders? But seriously, they all look very good to me, especially having a smoothing algorithm. I never saw any good results from the C1.1 "smooth edges" command. One question: what are caustics?
Thread: banned? | Forum: Community Center
Bebop wasn't banned for political art, but Liftan was banned for neo-Nazi rants, not his crude anti-Israeli caricatures. If you want to waste your time repeating Liftan's (and Hitler's) mistakes, it's up to the moderators to decide when you go over the line into the area of hate-speech.

It seems like the pro-nude-fairy faction is making a mountain out of a molehill. Renderotica and PoserPros are willing to host nude fairies, so why are the nude-fairy storm-troopers trying to force Renderosity against its will? It's Renderosity that will take the hit if some over-zealous Tennessee D.A. decides he or she wants to prosecute over images that may appear to them to be nude 11 or 14-year-old girls. So let the pro-nude-fairy faction take the risk instead, and quit trying to use grade-school hyperbole, intimidation and ridicule to dupe somebody else into being the fall guy or nude-fairy stooge. It's one thing if you protest free speech violations after getting silenced for challenging authority or standing up against oppression, but for the sake of sanity, don't get into these guerrilla tactics over your urge to leer at 11-year-old nude girls.

I would just like to ask for the addition of an anti-hate-crime provision to the TOS. Then if PoserPros or Renderotica want to corner the hate-monger clientele, they are free and clear to do so, without having to worry about competition from Renderosity in that area. I don't see it so much as censorship as a division of labor. Renderotica can become the acknowledged site for nude images of adults, and they can benefit economically from clients who are interested in buying related products. PoserPros can become the acknowledged site for nude fairies, without worrying about competition from other sites for the coveted nude fairy client base. Renderosity can concentrate on a wider-based nonpolitical and nonpornography approach, and sell products aimed at that market. So there's no overlap, just an efficient division of labor.

Thanks for banning the latest Alf clone. But I was perplexed when I went to liftan's member area last week and saw those insane hook-nosed, devil-eared caricatures of various Jews or other leaders. This is exactly the same style of caricature that was used against the Jews by the Nazis in the 30s and 40s, but it said at the bottom "We are proud to host the works of this artist" or something similar. It's like saying you're proud to host a revival of Nazi hate crimes. I'm not Jewish, but I can't understand banning nude fairies and allowing Nazi propaganda. I would say, go ahead and ban nude fairies, since there's already a place for that (PoserPros or Renderotica), but be fair and ban Nazi propaganda as well, since the Nazis have harmed alot more people than any pedophile stuff ever did.
Thread: Hosting a 50MB file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's too large. Change the textures to more highly-compressed jpegs, or split the file up into various texture packs.
Thread: Mosca censored!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Supreme Court just ruled that "community standards" can't be ignored when the ACLU tried to prove that censorship of images of nude children is a violation of free speech, and the Supreme Court sent such a case back to a lower court for review on those grounds. If the "community standards" of 'rosity are determined by a group of administrators, then they will eventually have to be consistent with each other, which will probably require them to either allow or ban all nudity, unless they develop specific standards that aren't secret, arbitrary and capricious.
Thread: Please, can't anyone help me with my anime eyes problem? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I looked at the other thread. Maybe they don't want to do any freebie morphs, but they had some ideas that might work. Try using the Poser eye magnets (Props/Magnets/Eye Magnets.pp2) to do it like you want. You could even come up with something original, rather than trying to copy a commercial character.

Click on some element that goes crazy, then open the "Graph" menu item. You'll probably see a crazy serpentine line for the dial in question. What you usually want in those places is linear (Straight-line) interpolation. Or in some cases just a constant value.

When you look at a photo of an ant, it's usually impossible to see where the legs are coming from, so I attached a link to a diagram that shows some details.Thread: Yes, I'm in insect mode, pass the Raid! | Forum: Carrara
I think you did a good job on the ant. Just one minor detail: they have a center section called a trunk (thorax), where each of 3 leg-pairs is attached to a separate thoracic section.
