Thread: I need a recommendation for V2 makeup maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, there is now a good program to translate textures from V3 to V2 and from V2 to V3. It is sold here at the marketplace and in Daz store as well i think. Great buy if you already have several textures you want to reuse with another model. As a sidenote, i remember people complaining a bit of the quality of the V3 to V2 maps (the V2 to V3 looked very good). As i don't have the program yet those other people may have better comments on the program now :)

I am no specialist but I think that poser4 with propack has a C4D plugin but poser5 has none. So i guess poser4 with pp would be better.

Well, from what i saw, propack download is only enabled for the US (enlish version) and i see you have a german XP (german poser as well maybe?)

I have vue 4.1 and it is definitely the best if you compare the features/price ratio. Vue is basically not a modeler, so if you want to create clothes, you should look for something else. On the other hand, with a little imagination and time, you can create a ton of props using the basic shapes, boolean ops and material editor of vue 4... (some results found in the vue board of this site are pretty amazing)

Thread: transparency + highlight ? | Forum: Vue
Good idea Varian thanks :) Not sure if it is the same thing i finally found, but here is what i finally did after much more tries: the transparency options contain an checkbox named "underlying material". There, you can define a new material that is seen through the transparency... so i put 100% transparency in my original material (with the trans map) and then checked the "underlying material" and added my transparent plastic there. Also what i found is that you can use 100% transparency and n=1 for the transparent plastic material! What you have to do to get the highlight to show in this case is to check the box "additive" in the transparency options! Thanks again :) PS: The duping object method didn't work well in my case, even trying to make one object bigger. This is mainly due to the fact i use complex object with concavities (clothes) and not a simple shape i guess.
Thread: transparency + highlight ? | Forum: Vue
Thanks for the tip, i will try it :) In this case i was playing with poser clothing, trying to have some transparent plastic effects... what i did was to reduce the max transparency to about 60%, but then both transparency and highlights aren't too convincing :/ Anyway it seems like it would be a very usefull option to be able to choose between a transparent area or a transparent "material" that could shine :) (maybe for vue 4.1 or 5 :P )
Thread: transparency + highlight ? | Forum: Vue
Oh and actually, i also made the same experience in poser, and there, the transparent areas are affected by the highlight... I can also invert the question (maybe this should be posted in the poser forum but i know several people use poser as well), what if i want the transparent areas in poser to not be affected by highlights!?

Also note that with the combination of texture maps, trans maps and bump maps, you can also create a lot of different clothes using already existing geometries. This is certainly easier than trying to create totally new clothes (.obj).

Thread: Vue 4.05 Final Available | Forum: Vue
Mmm i did already reply to some email from Steve about that but if vue can now read .bum files now, the result bump image is corrupted with all kind of line patterns :/ Also, it can be either .bum or .jpg, i can see some kind of offset/scaling problem with the bump map (light one, it isn't the Y=-1 thing). I made these tries with vicky high resolution textures (also tried with down sampled ones)... the offset/scale problem is especially visible around the nipples (one can see the nipples bump translated a bit to the left)... Anyone else woth problems with bumps from poser?
Thread: Stereo pairs rendering? | Forum: Vue
Thank you people :) What i am mostly looking for is the way to create the image pair, as i have the devices to show them in stereo afterwards. I was just wondering if there were some tutorial with settings for Vue to do it easy but unfortunately i didn't fount any. (i found one very general one for Bryce) I don't have vue right here and don't remember if exact camera parameters (like position and orientation) can be set, but if it is the case, i should be ok :)
