Thread: How to make a MAT Pose in Poser 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay I think I just spread some misinformation. I just noticed a painters palette in the material room. Click on that and you can save the materialzs into collections. Sorry. I could have sworn that I read that P8 dropped that though. Alas, since the gun only displays one material in the room as I mentioned before. The collections option is of no use to me.

Also Poser 8 doesn't do material collections any more doing a seearch for mc5 or mc6.. it doesn't exist in P8. It might read them but it doesn't create them anymore.
Thanks fopr the suggestions all. I'll check out my options.

Thread: Search capability seems to be not very good | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Is it the vendor that supplies the store with the search strings or does someone working for the store handle that. I mean I suppose if someone uplaods a gun but calls it a dress or doesn't use the word gun anywhere it won't be categorized as a weapon. AGM17 isn't even a real model number for the gun. But its close. G17 for Glock 17. I've never liked the search functions of the store that much but maybe its not the stores fault.

I am using the row of search boxes inside the market place. I don't usually know the vendor. So I use the first one on the left "search products"

In you first render the imported file. it seems to render fine except the bump maps are way too strong. If you make a change and have to reapply the texture the texture will not work on some parts.

Doc Geep I wasn't thinking of breakspline. I was think more in line of what ockham wrote about. I'll have to check it out.

Ah I feel much better now. Yep visibility worked like a charm. All I need now is something to reign in the splines in an animation. I now we've got the graph but Poser handles splines rather wildly. I mean it would be nice if there was a built in contraint for how ridiculous the splines are allowed to curve when one is applying keyframes.

Hmmm How did I miss that? I've been using Poser for years. Just never had this particular situation. I've got a guy with a Glock 17 in his holster. He starts of in a ready position with his hands at his chest. Then he's gonna drawe the weapon. But since we cannot change an objects parent in mid animation its required that there be two guns in the scene. One in the holster and one in the hand. One being visible while the other is not.
Thanks to you and doc Geep. I've found something I've obviously always overlooked.

Thread: File Convection in Poser runtime | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL. Yeah at first I had "convention". Convection also means the act of coveying or transmitting.. Anyway, for all I know there may be a utilitiy out there already that you can set to autmatically re-organize the character files/ pose files, textures, etc.

Thread: Dynamic Hair Simulation question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Man I guess to do a worth while simulation one would need a Xenon processor or whatever the top ones are. And maybe even two of them. Only 5,000 hairs with 24 vertices and its only calc'ed 21 frames over 10 hours with collision on. "Ahow pop" was unselected too. I have 1.9Ghz Athlon with 1.5gig of ram. Ya gotta have collision on or the hair will pass the the body I would imagine. It's just pathetic. The needs of the sim as well as my PC.
