 I have it doing the same thing on some skin textures. That's not supposed to be white on the eyeshadow.

ah - that's good to know too - thank you!That 128 Pixel Samples translates into 16,384 runs through the rendering process. For a quick and dirty test I use 4 and for final around 16. As far as lights try setting up one of the Startup scenes Mondello beach or Wild Street. They have a single IBL light over head to provide lighting for working on the scene which does not render in final. So basically you can now do scenes just using the surrounding HDRI image and have no lights. You probably will want to add lights to get the effect you want much like Hollywood does in making a movie. But without those lights it is like you taking your camera and taking a picture.
Also you should use the Progressive Mode to render as it has been found to render faster then the old bucket system. That shocked me the first time I ran a default render and did not see the little buckets.

Thanks for this!The Superfly render engine has changed a lot under the hood. In P12 one thread would render one bucket, so you'd set the number of buckets to match the threads available for CPU rendering. However in P13 that has changed - all threads render one single bucket at a time.
Two options - either increase the size of the bucket (more threads = bigger bucket, though RAM will play a role too) or switch Progressive Rendering on which will then ignore the bucket setting.
The Log will give you an exact time for each render to compare different settings.
In addition, I've found that P13 needs less samples than P12, I'd suggest try halving the setting first. With both P12 and P13 installed you should be able to do some comparisons. Also the Denoise post-process option is imo better than P12.
Basically I've found that P13 is significantly faster for me.

I had tried the presets - but my images were getting blown out - I guess I have to rethink my lights now too - needling less.

I don't know what's going on - but my SuperFly render is taking about 30X longer than it did in 12.
In 12 and previous - I could see the render use the 32 hyperthreads - each had it's own bucket to render (CPU Render)
But this version doesn't seem to do that, and it taking a lot longer to render 1 bucket.

I'd love to be able to make Area Lights not visible in reflections.
There's also an issue with trying to mirror poses (one side to the other)Â with V4 and M4 - that didn't use to be there. The first oddity was the eyes would get included if you wanted to mirror the arms. Now the legs and feet mess up if you try to mirror the entire body.
I'd love to see a "LOCK" object in the parameter menu - currently the only place to find it is in the dropdown object menu.
Of course, I'd love to see full integration with current daz figures... but that's dreaming.

Just spent an hour solving this on my own. :P
There's a script or a pose for a fix? Please, where's that at?Â
For now, I'm fixing the code with a find/replace for each item as needed.

I hate to admit it - but I don't understand very much of this, and yeah, I've been using poser for a long time.
I need simplicity - click - the thing now casts light - slide "this" to make it brighter - kind of stuff.
just like Ghostship2's materials - click - it's silver! and move on to making my image :)

I guess I'm used to firefly's ambient lights not really having the punch I needed and causing the shadow artifacts.Â

I've noticed that VENDOR lights have lost their color - to fix it, I added a "simple color" node with that color in it - works every time for me.

I JUST FOUND A WORKAROUND!!!
I run poser on duel monitors. I had a search open, it had only found a few things. Then I switched to the material room - my library changed for that viewport setup I have and suddenly it started finding more results on it's own. I just tested it with a few other keywords, like gloves from before - It works! I change the room and the search springs to life and keeps looking!
