I MIGHT create model depending on the need and available time. To help me out please define carriage type(ie Hearse, New York Park style, Englands coronation style etc). The historical period (1600's,1700's) will help. Level of detail (will be viewed from distance or closeup) (or view interior from exterior). Will the drawbars and linkage be needed (to hook up horses). Horses are up to you as without Poser I wouldn't attenpt them. A black mariah(sp) style hearse with glass windows, lanterns would be easy except for the curtains which were satin like Lily Munsters dresses(now I'm dating myself). Let me know... td

Nice job, Not to be a jerk but you neglected to rotate the Earths axis by approx (20 ?) degrees... I have an animated spinning earth I built long ago and did the same thing.A customer caught it (to my chagrin) so I thought I'd let you know while you're amongst friends. td
Thread: Free stuff section for Truespace | Forum: Community Center
Thanks! (Hmm I've had success so far...?0 Ahhem It's my hope that a new section devoted to having others buy me stuff and, and... It worked once didn't it? Having noticed that all forums are moderated very well I'm wondering how much time( average) you spend on duties and if site has any tools, methods that help or are you on your own? Thanks thunderdon

Thread: Need some advice on rendering animations | Forum: Bryce
Render to sequential images then assemble them in video editor. Probably TGA format will be best. This will allow you to edit, cut, insert and adjust timing correctly. If you use compressed clips and edit and save them they will lose detail and gain "schmutz" on each save. This also allows for post processing in aftereffects or photoshop to add detail and cut overall work (create a mask rendering of animated areas of image with flowing water, waterfall, fire etc. Render the animated areas alone and apply the mask to a completed still of image and render. This saves mucho time as Bryce doesn't have to render entire screen for each frame (and take into account all the ray hits possiable)) You might want to think of final output going to hard disk and then publish it to mpeg and cdrom. The ATI tv out will skip frames and colors will be wierd when showqn on TV. If you had targa pro $2000/$10000 card and commercial quality single frame recorder then the output to tape would be correct (as all previews, and actual manipulation of vid takes place on RGB TV monitor while computer screen handles the Editing program screens. I have Ati AllInWonderPro w/TVout and havent gotten anything worth spitting on, even by using full quality professional video as input. Good Luck its expensive and a lot of work. Even with the correct stuff you could find yourself using 100 Gigibiits of disk.. (check out the movie by Susan Kitchens made entirely in Bryce They had to use borrowed Hard drive arrays/raids with networked computers and she workked for MetaCreations)
Thread: A new section for member created utilities (compiled programs) | Forum: Community Center
OOPS Heh Heh, I wasn't really thinking about who would supply the disk space...Not very foreward thinking of me but I had in mind an area like the galleries where members would upload the program(s) and allow other members to download. I see the problem with this (space space space). How about a way to link with Freedrive as a way to get around the cost to Renderosity? Sorry about raising problems instead of providing solutions. Bahhh Bahhh, SHEEPISHLY thunderdon Ps Thanks Rcook for your quick action. I will now try to think of a way to compensate for my big mouth.
Thread: Selective Selecting | Forum: Bryce
Solo mode can help. At bottom right of screen (by the down arrow mentioned previously) there is a little sphere. Select the group or item you want to work on and click this sphere. All other objects on screen will dissapear. Now ungroup the object you want to work on make changes and reselect/regroup parts. Using edit select all from menu will select camera so be sure to unselect camers before grouping or you'll go nuts chasing the da?n thing all over as you move objects. Getting in habit of naming ALL iimportant parts immediatly after creation will help a lot. Good luck.

Thread: Carrara Models in Bryce? how? possible? | Forum: Bryce
I haven't used Carrara yet but check the file formats available from the file menus File| Save As... selection. there should be a dropdown box below the file window with file types in it IE; TrueSpace Cob (.cob) Autocad Dxf (.dxf) etc. If dxf is available then export a simple model and import it into bryce using File: Import Object... on the file menu. DON"T use Truespace Cob format as all "boolean" holes will be filled by Bryce. I generally model in a modal fashion. and export things by functionality group ie; foundation objects that don't change set the rules for all other parts, foundation objects that do change and all parts hung on the results must adhere to the rules you set with first base objects. Bryce is not very flexiable in positioning complex little sub/parts of the things you import so plan and be sure.
Thread: video format fix | Forum: Animation
As far as I know you will need all the colors for broadcast video. If you reduce to 1000s as you suggest it might look correct on computer but will fall apart and band, flash and ? when viewed on ntsc monitor. Your editor should have no problem EDITING because of colors (except speed). The way you say frame skipping makes me think that final cut "prints to video" (or plays completed vid to monitor and video out port). If this is so I hate to say it but you're attempting too much with your graphics/editing combo. The Bryce movie by Susan Kitchens (first movie ever created on desktop) used massive video rated hard disk arrays, top of the line Targe boards and MEM MEM MEM. If youre using something like a ATI Rage pro and single (un dedicated) hard drive you are just plain reaching too high. Besides when going to broadcast video your editing/previewing should have all been done on a NTSC/PAL monitor. Details that are obvious on computer screen have a way of fading out, colors that looked great ( a great red/orange sunset for example) turn to mud, or strobe etc. I admire your fortitude and bravery but I would produce final movie on cd. That way all your work won't go for naught. (besides being duplicatable en masse without quality loss). Render On ...
Thread: Slideshow | Forum: Bryce
I have written a javascript/dhtml page that will play all images in a configurable directory (use same as page or relative path so it plays on all machines). It is VERY small and will work for anyone using windows and IE 4 up. I will GIVE it to you with instructions if you will assure me that my work won't show up all over the place in a month! I know, but a reasonable assurance from an honest person will do... Let me know!
Thread: NEED DEEP HELP!!!! IMPORTANT!! | Forum: Bryce
The easiest way I've found to beat no/UV control is to rotate your texture image 180" (it will be backwards in 2d paint program). Like doing transparancies, the source has to be backwards. Good luck
