This looks very strange. Besides the problem with the bump maps, I haven't seen any problems with the texture maps yet. Just applied the hires map and it looked fine to me. Have to investigate that further at home. Djeser, just have a look which maps are applied to which material part. Looks like a wrong assignment to me (error in MAT file?).
Thread: M3 and his wrong Bump Maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I could invert the bump map for the body. That's true. BUT, the eye bump is also the wrong way round. So let's invert that too. The face map is more difficult. They desaturated the texture map and made the eyebrows white, but they didn't invert the rest. So where the stubble should be you see holes in the skin. So this is not simply inverted. By the way, I have the maps for Victor and they are correct. So this is definitely an error and I expect DAZ to correct that soon, even if you see it only in special situations.

Glad you got it. I always saw your fine Poser art, so I think now it can get even better. You'll love it. Believe me. Looking forward with joy - Walter

Thread: V3 Male Morph Pak: Textures, Faces? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks elizabyte smiles. This should resolve the issue, when my male elven character wants to take a bath. This would allow every angle grins. I also have a look at that. - Walter

Well I found out that Vue sometimes behaves different when importing the mapping with certain file formats (e.g. 3DS). I saw that first when using X-Frog plants (maybe the fault is with X-Frog?). There is a tutorial in the backroom XFROG TO VUE D'ESPRIT by Orio, which may help you. - Walter

Hi dodger, This really looks great. Will we get other parts (for legs and arms too)? What modeler do you use? Really looking forward to see the finished product.

Hi adp001, You are right, but don't get me wrong. The textures used here are below 2000x2000. I didn't use tiling with this small pavilion, because it may lead to patterns sometimes. I did this with my other product Dragon Hall a lot. The total polygon count is a bit above 20.000. I think this isn't too small. But anyway, I will reconsider this for my next product. I've seen some stone walls lately here, with a detailed mesh and they look great. So you may be right. On the other hand I heard people complaining about high polygon counts. Just have to get the right feeling what are the best numbers. Thanks for your advice and I hope you like it anyway. - Tintifax
Thread: I don't like bum files much... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a thread here that explains how to make bum maps. Forgot where. Take a greyscale pic. Fill the blue channel with Black. Emboss the green channel with 90. Emboss the red channel with -30. I'm no expert on Photoshop, but maybe this process is reversable for one channel. Then desaturate to get the grayscale pic again.

Well, I personally do not ship the bum files with my product. Just the greyscale jpg's. 1. People who like to use my products with Pro Pack, Poser5 or any other application do not need them, but they need the jpg's! 2. If you use Poser 4, you can convert them yourself or let Poser do the job (not recommended on PC because of a Poser bug). I explain how to do this in the readme. All this keeps the product small and saves download size and time.

Thread: New Critic in Town | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like to have response for my 'artwork'. If it's good, I am full of joy. If it's bad, I try to learn something from it. You have to have a thick skin as an artist. Anyway, TS appearance was kind of rude. It sounds like: 'I'm am a critic and see if you can handle me', but there's no need to see him as a troll. He simply wants (needs) attention. Maybe he will really help, so give him a chance. In the end there are a lot of people here leaving comments. I like most, when they tell me how to improve my work and what they think was done well. If someone simply says 'this is bad and that is bad', it doesn't help much. Most of the time, I know myself what needs improvement, but knowing and doing is different as TS stated. Some things are hard to do in Poser and I like to learn more. So combine critics with links to helpful tutorials or hints. I think this will help us all. ...and don't get easily offended...
