Sorry to say. NOT Really. Different browsers, different sizes, different Platforms, very different sizes. :-( CSS / Dynamic Style sheets / Dynamic HTML try to get around this, but still not 100%. Still different sizes though much much closer. The end user can change the font size in the browser. James

OK, I really don't know why you're having problems. I thought (like others) that it had to be UV Mapped. NOT true. Here is a quicky I threw together. the shape is just a sloppy lathe, so don't look at it as anything of beauty. I just wanted to show you that it SHOULD work. One is a DXF. Which contains absolutly NO UV info at all. And it still worked. Then it's rendered whith everything default. Lighting etc. James

Now you've confused me. Nothing looks mapped to me at all. Let alone Reflect mapped. Do something obvious with the texture map. Like a checker board or somthing. The arm doesn't even look mapped. I think we need a bit more to look at than a black hammer and a default flesh tone applied to the models. Hope we can get this worked out for you soon. James

If you import an object with "weld vertices" off it will not smooth. But again this applies to the whole import. Import with welding on (smooths everything) Or welding off (facets everything). A 3DMF import comes in with the smooth parts smooth and the facets faceted. So maybe DFX has the same result as stated above. James

Looking vey good! A great start. But I agree with about 80% of momodot's suggestions. If not a genital bulge, at least some crotch folds. James

giggle :-) Please read message before you post Allerleirauh, ;-) giggle "I used uv mapper to make a map for it and it works fine" So there are UV coordinates. But Deal, if you can't get a basic texture to map, then it's time to re-UVMap it. Keep us informed. James

Here's the short answer: Any picture can be a reflection map. But you should think of the image wraping on a sphere. meaning only that when it is applied it circles the entire staging area, as if you placed a giant sphere in the scene and the objects that reflect, will reflect this picture. But the picture is a rectangle, it just wraps on an imaginary sphere in the scene. Hope this helps a little. James

Here is a good start for reflection settings. The best Rule-of-thumb, is to keep colors in the same family. Example: If you're doing gold. Yellows in the highlights and a gold/yellow reflection map will yeild the best results. For silver use shades of greys.

None of theese methods have really ever worked for me. It does indeed give me a terrible headache. I prefer an Anaglyph (red Blue/green image). Even though you lose color definition it is easier for the masses to view. It's like the Magic Eye pictures. Took me forever to see those. And several asprins ;-) This is B%W, but I have done it in Color too. B&W seems just to look sharper. James B&W = Black and White

arabinowitz, yes the sparkly effect was indeed done in Post work. I used a filter called Gaussian weave. had to do a separate layer...yada-yada. I figure that using a star burst brush would be a little easier. There are also "Star Filter" plug-ins out there that do this automatically. I just don't have one. ;-) James

Funny story on that Don. I am actually a flute player, albeit I haven't picked up a flute in many years. But when putting this together I was doing the mirror thing. Half way through I realized that it was indeed backward. It was very late at night so I posted it anyway. I also in the back of my mind kind of wanted to see if anyone noticed ;-) So I'm busted! Here is the correct pose ;-) James
