I would agree that RDRAM isn't that great (at least for the extra cost). I got it because I bought my Pentium 4 machine around a month after P4's were launched and there was no DDR RAM option at the time and only two motherboards to choose from. If I were buying my computer today I certainly wouldn't get RDRAM.

It is inevitable what is happening here. I've been an Op in channels for years and in each one without exception this type of thing happens. The Mods are always adding to their authority, exerting more control until finally people stop talking altogether. It's a power trip and it always leads to the destruction of the channel because its so easy to split away and for new ones. Websites are no different, Renderosity will be struggling for its very survival within 2 years because so many people will have been chased away.

there's just too many pathetic jackass's in this world that have to whine, bitch and moan about everything and unfortunately I've been guilty of that myself on occasion. Just go outside, find a lawnchair and relax with a cold brew for a while to calm down and forget about them. It's not like anyones opinion who you meet in here is worth getting upset about, odds are you'll never meet any of them anyways.

Question: Since D|S is a modular program and I seem to recall them saying that others would be able to make modules for it... might not Curious Labs decide that if Daz can make figures for Poser that they'll start making modules that would work on D|S? Thus allowing them to survive even if Poser goes belly up? There's always more money to be made from the add-ons than from the origional base product and it would keep the prices low.

Personally I'm a "once burned, twice shy" type of person but I can also be convinced to give people a second chance if I believe their hearts are in the right place. Curious Labs might have made mistakes in rushing out Poser 5 before it was ready but I'm still glad that I have the opportunity to use a program that is so much fun and relatively inexpensive. If it looks like they've learned their lesson I'd be willing to take a look at a Poser 6 or Poser Artist. I owe them that much for providing me with a platform to express my ideas.

If this guys been caught doing this before and not banned, make sure Renderosity reimburses you for each copy that was downloaded. After all, they now check every item before it's allowed into the free area so they have a responsibility to you. Especially since Renderosity had to have known this guys track record and should have been extra suspicious of every item he wanted to release.
