Quote - Love to. However since the morphs they came with DO NOT WORK, I got nothing to show. "Realistic, Male and Female" do nothing. They do not function. They are installed, updated and initilized, but don't work. If I had paid for them, I'd be demanding my money back.
If they had actually worked, I would not have complained.
We were talking about joint bending after single axis scaling, when I asked you to post pics. That has nothing to do wioth morphs. Let's stick to one claim at the time. I gave you instructions on how to test bending, and link to proof pictures.
Now it's your turn to prove it wrong by posting your pictures, of the same thing, with figures that you are bringing up. Scroll up, look at the link, see how the pics were done, and do the same thing, I want to see how you're going to get different results (ones to substantiate your claims) doing the same thing.
Easy peasy, no rendering needed, no morphs needed, all figures we're talking about are free. Simple thing to post pics that substantiate your claims.
Here's that link again: http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=137495&start=200
Someone else made the pics, so I can't copy them over here, but I tried it for myself, and get the same result.

Like I said, post some pics as proof, rather then going by distorted hear-say.

Quote - Apollo, Antonia, and Brad scale wonderfully. The Kids4 do not.. Most of the morphforms for the kids just do not work in poser. The only conclusion possible is they weren't intended for Poser or are just badly built figures. DAZ has built plenty of good figures in the past, but they didn't with this new figure. Sad, but true.
I think you need to actually do some hands on apples to apples comparison similar to the one here:
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=137495&start=200
before making more claims of that nature.

Quote - I wonder about the vendors too. Will they only support figures that only work in daz? I dont know, I do know it doesn't have to be that way . Look at Antonia, she scales perfectly fine in d/s or Poser. So both apps are still supported by her.
Actually, she doesn't (just tried it). Neither do any of the SM figures, Jessi, james, G2's or any other I tried. Everyone can easily test this for themselves, it is most obvious on any figure's neck.
Tilt the head down, tilt the neck down so the figure is in a deep nod. Select the neck, Y axis (length) and scale it up or down. At some point any figure will start looking broken and disjointed.
All poser figures I ever encountered that use bendable joints encounter this. it is due to single axis scaling dfistortions due to JP parameter inability to account for non uniform scaling.
It's a limitation of somewhat archaic poser rigging. Joint moves with it's JP zones, and the mesh parts taht are inside JP bend zones before scaling are now outside.
To make it work with current rigging system, one would have to anticipate Z Scaling and make a whole array of ERC'd JP adjustments and JCM's for each joint. That would be a humongous undertaking. Not to mention very cost prohibitive to make a figure like that, and especially clothing for it.

Thread: So how much $$$ does venders make ? | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
One of the things anyone whom wants to be a succesful merchant needs to do is follow the market and what sells and what doesn't sell and what the trends seem to be very closely.
There's been a number of non-vicky otems in the marketplace that have done extremely well. You have to be able to figure out what's special about them, and see how you can make your items special in some way. You have to be able to see past the stereotypes, and analyze things a bit more in depth. Something like that can affect your earnings a lot. It could make or break you.
The bottom line is, there are a LOT of variables in whether one can make a living as a merchant or not. It's just like running your own business.
If you're making props for your own purpose, and just making them available for the marketplace as a side thing it's almost guaranteed that you will not be as successful (and make a living wage) as if you followed the market, spent a lot of time learning about your customers, and focused your product on what you learn they are interested in.
Also, if you're making stuff for your movie in C4D for example, and plan on putting the product in the marketplace as poser props, about half of your time will be spent making them "poser friendly". Compared to high end programs, Poser has a lot of quirks and limitations that need to be accomodated to make things work in Poser. For one, all your materials will end up needing to be re-done specially for Poser (for a commercial quality item). Scaling and making props work in proportion with Popular Poser figures is also an issue you'll have to deal with. Lot of other little technical things. Those are all the things that will affect how succesful you will be as a merchant.

If you work hard enough to make a living as a vendor you're still not going to have time to invest into making a movie.
Between modeling, texturing, UV mapping, rigging and posersizing, and making catchy promo images and self promotions and everything it takes, you're pretty much working 12 hours a day.
If you don't put that much effort into it, then you;re looking at the lower end of earnings - which is $0-$500 a month.
Also as was pointed out, skill and talent and having a feel for what people are interested and will buy in has a lot to do with how you'll do.

Quote - It's not just me getting poor and losing home. Tons of illegal immigrants face this too.
I saw this show where people were dying just to make it. Also american homeless people or people losing their jobs now.I could get this position as a bus boy, that i saw yesterday in the Newspapeer., but i can't even afford to live with the pay i get. So what's the point.
To start getting some job and life experience that you so badly need.
As time goes on, you gain experience and skills, and your pay goes up, and your ability to get a better paying job goes up. Everyone starts at the bottom - even a LOT of college graduates.
It's a step by step process, it doesn't happen all at once. Getting a job as a bus boy is your first step. The point of taking a first step is to start a journey of getting somewhere.
Not taking it, you stay stuck right where you are.
**My dad's couple favorite phrases are "Stop talking and start doing" and "Even if it's wrong, do something" (You can always change course later, and the experience you gain is priceless.
Congratulations on your new job - keep it up and good things will happen!!!!**

Thread: I need Volunteers (New Forum Idea) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yea, the main reason I have a forum is that it gives me a nice access restricted place for beta testing and interaction with collaborators.
There's a spot for freebie downloads and product support, but they are very seldom visited.
I'm 'hooked up' with Posershoppers, but I always forget to go there, for the exact same reason that there are too many places to go. Between promoting my stuff in the galleries here, and DAZ commons and a few emails and PM's, the time I have for it is gone. I don't go to RDNA and CP nearly as much as I would like to, for the same reason. I don't even visit the remaining forums here and at DAZ very frequently for the same reason.
I really wish the no commercial no freebie rule was not in existance here. Like I said, it's one of the main reasons I'm at the commons more and more, and showing my work there too. As a consequence, it looks like my products are likey to gravitate in that direction too. It's a bit of a bummer because Renderosity is my place of origin - so to speak. But, it's gotten too restrictive here. DAZ not only lets me advertise my stuff there, in their busies forum, but it doesn't even require that it be sold at DAZ. Eventually you start asking yourself, why do I hang out at DAZ, but sell at Rendo, especially since DAZ wants my creations.
Interestingly, I'm seeing a number of people whom were vocal about putting those "no commercials" rules in place at DAZ commons too. Content, purchased content is a big part of this hobby. Not being able to advertize or talk about content (without people getting suspicious someone put you up to advertizing) is, well, too restrictive for my comfort.
Sorry, I'm sidetracking the thread here... :(

phpbb works great, I use it on Bad Kitteh forums.
I just saw this and was going to offer Bad Kitteh forums, but it looks like it's too late, and it may not fit your requirements. But, if it does, the offer is open.
My thing with new forums (even my own) is that poserdom is so spread out, and everyone's time and attention span to check out all the places worth checking out is limited. I've been hanging around commons and DAZ forums more and more, because they don't have the restrictions they do in this forum.

's okay, you can donate the model to someone else :)
I haven't been doing that much posering for fun, so making something would be sort of wasted on me. Perhaps watch the forum for people asing for stuff, and make a random pick.

User Mondwin uploads an image once a year, on August 17th.
Some people are bothered that this particular user gets a lot of comments and places high on art-charts.
It's a bit of a non event, really.

Quote - One of my cats will actually argue with me when she wants to go out and I say no. It's so funny. And when I tell her no and point to the kitchen she will walk away from the back door mumbling like Mutley from Dick Dastardlys catch that pigeon.
Oh yes! One of my new kitties, the one that was supposed to be shyer of the two came out of her shell. She's a little riot, and a vocal one too. Her under the breath little whines and meowls when she's not pleased are priceless.

Cats have however learned how to pul our invisible strings to bring them food, and don;t need to learn to know how to uncover their own. So, who is smarter now?
