Awesome. The release notes are appreciated too. The previous beta was 12.0.261, so the updates are as below. Especially note the Known Issues, that makes clear that the intention is that superfly renders should look the same as in 11 (if you don't use any of the new stuff). The notes for .272 maybe address the weirdness with the background, too.
Known Issues (high priority for next update):

Thanks for sharing that. I would rather hear that it's a bug they intend to fix than a deprecated feature we will have to work around, or a deliberate change. That makes me more optimistic.
Thread: "Cancel" Render issue? | Forum: Poser 12
I've let it go hours after hitting cancel. Admittedly, 90% of the time I hit cancel because it's incorrectly rendering with the CPU instead of the GPU, and consequently the render itself would take many hours, but the point of hitting cancel is to stop so I can do it correctly and not waste all that time..... So I end up just killing the process in the task manager, and then restarting Poser, but that's not optimal.
Thread: "Cancel" Render issue? | Forum: Poser 12
Huh. When I click Cancel, the darn thing doesn't stop. Sometimes I can get it to pretend to stop, but the process is still running. Don't really care about the results, I just want it to stop when I say stop.
Thread: Error on panning render | Forum: Poser 12
I get that same kind of artifact in some other software, too. I think it happens when the screen resolution is greater than the size of some buffer created when screens were smaller.
But, yeah, it would be nice to get it fixed. I do see that in both Poser 11 and 12.

one thing to be aware of, and I think this is a bug: Post render denoise is ON by default even though the box is not checked. You have to toggle the box on then back off again to turn it off. As of this moment I have not found the denoiser to be useful at all due to the way it destroys detail in the skin and makes the render look cartoonish or look like it's a Photoshop painting. Maybe they'll have controls for it soon so we can adjust how strong it works.
Just a note of agreement here. The denoise works really well, I think actually too well. It makes the render look perfect and clean, but you don't always want that. If there is a lot of noise in the render, it even erases actual features, e.g. I had it completely erase a lightswitch on the wall in a dark (very noisy) scene. This needs an adjustment dial. In practice, I might save an image both ways and then combine them in postwork.
Thread: No support for Nvidia 30xx series | Forum: Poser 12
It seems a little erratic. When I unchecked the same box today in Poser 11, now even when I render multiframe scenes via the Queue manager (i.e. in the background), they are using the CPU (despite selecting the GPU). Worse, when I check the box again, it doesn't fix it. Not sure what is going on there, but I think it's fair to say there are some issues with this setting and it might not always do what it logically should.
Thread: Shader nodes that changed | Forum: Poser 12
Thanks. It's not obvious (to me anyway) that you would look under Rendering to find Shaders, but that's where it is. Direct link: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/shader_nodes/shader/index.html
Here's PrincipledBDSF: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/shader_nodes/shader/principled.html That's actually quite a bit more useful than the Poser documentation.
I don't see anything that addresses the question of which existing nodes changed, though. Assuming I want to fix shaders that are broken, not rebuild every single thing from scratch, we still need some tips here. Also, it would be nice to hear from the developers whether the shaders that are broken are broken for good, or things that they plan to fix in some way.
Thread: No support for Nvidia 30xx series | Forum: Poser 12
Oh, interesting. I had that checked. After unchecking it, the single frame render directly in Poser did use the GPU. Have not tested the multiframe methods yet.
That's kind of annoying, because I do still use Firefly as well and it improves performance there. It would be better if Superfly just ignored that setting, so I don't have to go into the general preferences each time I switch (which I am guaranteed to forget).
Thread: No support for Nvidia 30xx series | Forum: Poser 12
It's not just the 3000 series. I have an RTX 2080 Super and I have exactly the same symptom. Doesn't matter whether I pick the GPU or the Optix:GPU (not sure which I should be using?). It also doesn't matter whether I render in Poser or use the Queue manager.
In Poser 11, I had this problem if I rendered a multiframe animation directly in Poser, it always used the CPU. But in Poser 11, single frame renders worked fine, and animations were also fine if I sent them to the Queue manager. Now in 12, it's all CPU.
Thread: Retaining Poser 11 libraries? | Forum: Poser 12
If you copy the applicable files in C:Users(your name)AppDataRoamingPoser Pro11 to C:Users(your name)AppDataRoamingPoser12 you can just move all those links right over. Runtimes are listed in LibraryPrefs.xml.
You should probably also edit it to include the new folders added for 12. Although frankly it starts getting ridiculous when each version installs its own folder containing almost all of the content from all the previous versions.
Note these are hidden folders. Click View on the ribbon and pick the option to show hidden files in order to see them.
Thread: Really Quick Impressions | Forum: Poser 12
I expected the Python issues. But having existing Superfly shaders not work anymore is a surprise, and a big issue. I have shaders I spent time on, I have Superfly shaders I purchased from Renderosity. Are they all junk now? That's a lot more work and expense than I signed up for.
Thread: early adopter | Forum: Poser 12
I did the survey, got the discount code, but then completely forgot about it because that was in March! Darn it.
Thread: Love the dots | Forum: Poser 12
Agreed, both about the new brighter dots being an improvement, and the scroll bars are too narrow throughout.
I don't know if this happens to everyone else, but the biggest annoyance for me is accidentally double-clicking the dials (and popping open a window) when I just meant to make a small adjustment.
Thread: Is the "tear off" button gone for good? | Forum: Poser 12
That's also my workflow. Had not gotten to the point of looking for it yet, as the renders did not work right....
