JWB, I have never tried exporting trees, but did you play with the "mesh settings" in the tree modeller dialouge window. Mike

Here's an idea , have Carrara in big bold letters ,then have Raydream/Infini-d in much smaller letters after it. Just a thought. Mike

Pogmahone, I did give him the link for gmax since I thought this was the industry standard for creating games but I thought it could be overkill for someone just learning. Mike
Thread: Carrara Vs Bryce | Forum: Carrara
I have only used a free version of Bryce for a small amount of time so I can't comment much on it. I do think that Carrara can do landscapes like Bryce and Vue it just may take a bit more work. This is why I started to try some landscapes in Carrara . Carrara has the benefit of having much more modelling and rendering options as well as having a brighter future. Bryce 6 may not arrive although I hope it does. Mike

Thread: Toon rendering question | Forum: Carrara
Kat, In the Toon settings, try turning the toon settings to zero and the "Line" settings to 50% or so. Also play with the "edge" angle settings (low settings probably.) Have sharp edge at "1" as well. I also found if you render a big image the black lines are thinner. I just started playing with the toon settings as well. Good Luck, Regards Mike

Norm, I was using a matrox dual head video card and had the same problem. You might want to update your video cards drivers. After I updated my drivers the background image worked. Regards. Mike
