WOW, this is gorgeous! I too would love to have a model of this. Of course I'd love having the full size RW version too, but can't have everything. I remember a roll top desk at my father's but haven't seen it in years. It wasn't as nice as yours is. Hope you find the time to finish this one, its already beautiful. Ang

This is great, it not only fits the Dec/holiday theme but would also have worked as a "Land of Fantasy" too. I love all the critters and such, very nicely done.

Very, very tough decisions. Not even sure I've got my favorites right. I thought I had them picked yesterday but then today I've changed them a bit. There are just too many good ones to narrow it down. But I'll go with today's choices. I'd love to mention all the ones I loved & why but then that would be a list way too long to print. Here are my picks: 3-mboncher Love the colors and the finished piece. 2-Nuski The textures are "out of this world". 1-Catlin Great details, lots of stuff to look at.

Like Darkginger, I am in awe. This stuff looks like it can be a lot of fun to learn. That screen shot is so helpful. Wish I had known about this before I did my string of pearls, lol. Thanks for the tip can't wait to try it. Ang

Nice, I love all the details and the scene is so cute. Great job on the modeling of the gourds. Ang

Thanks for the comments. Yep, thats Nessie, I found that the dragon from 3D broke into 3 segments so I couldn't resist making a serpent. :-D

Wow, this is great! I remember seeing the first post you did of this. Almost didn't recognize it, what a big difference. I love the colors and textures. Ang

Thanks hewsan, I used the plop render a lot to check textures and positions of the gems etc. Even that was taking a long time in my mind. Well, you know how times seems to drag when you're waiting for something. I'm sure it wasn't really a long time. So I know this will be a dumb question but when you do that plop render after a change, how do you make it part of the whole as a finished render? Do you do it in another app like PSP or PS or is there a way it does it in Bryce? Thanks again. I'm sure this will come in handy. Ang

Phily, Errrr so sorry, clicked the post message before I was done. I agree with FWTempest, your renders are getting really good.

Thanks for the info about the sun shape. I didn't realize why it was oval or how to fix it. My daughter totally disliked the picture because of it (and its too pink for here taste). But I was thinking about trying to do the fix up work in PSP because of the render time only I'm just a beginner at that too so I don't have a whole lot of ideas on how to fix it up. I think I'll try your suggestion. There are still a few weeks left, hence more nights to render during. I had a lot of fun doing this, got to make more stuff. I used Peter Sharpe's tut for the gems. And the dragon flies were the closest I could make to fairies using Bryce. I love the glassy materials which makes rendering take forever. This is my fantasy land, warm and smooth with lots of pretty gems just waiting to be picked up off the ground. :) Thanks again for the tip!

ummm, I'm not an officiato of Pern but loved the books. Thread falls for about 50 yrs then stops till I guess another 250 yrs passes. Not sure of the exact time between threadfalls, but it seems you are both right but about slightly different things here. Anyhow, I never made much of a difference between sci-fi and fantasy. I love reading what I call "Sci-fi Fantasy" books. One category in my opinion. Sorta like you can have a Romance-Comedy movie or a Murder-Mystery book. Ok my 2 cents is in.

Thanks Eric. Hot diggity dog! I've seen this place before but must not have bookmarked it. I was trying to turn off the antialising on my trees and knew I'd seen how to do it. But alas I couldn't remember and here it is in BSolutions. Lots of useful stuff in this link, it is now bookmarked. Ang
