Thanks for the advice. EricofSD-loved your link, D/L'd the stuff. Will take a lot of work to get the hang of Metasequoia but it seems like it could be a lot of fun. I will need more time to check out the others mentioned above. I can't do any trials yet. I work two jobs and would run out of the 30 days long before I got to try them. The ecomonomy out here sucks. Anyhow, I guess I just have one more question that I'm too embarassed to ask in the 3DS forum. That is where is the 3DS MAX website? I did a web search and came up with nothing. I'd like to find out if they have a student price and what they cost etc. But, I know nothing about 3DS and when I looked in that forum, I didn't come across a link. Sometimes, I can look right at something and not see it so if it's there just tell me I'm having another senior moment and I'll go back and look again. Thanks again for the help. Ang25

I'd like the second one better if it were more of a matte finish, not so shiny. The shiny works great on the gold, can't wait to see how silver and copper come out.

I've only had one class thru them, but it was excellent and the price can't be beat. I plan on taking the second Bryce this fall too.

Beautiful flowers, now I'm dying to see the fantasy gallery. When do you expect to have that linked up? Ang

whew, lots more work :-). I was thinking about making the lamp posts into those straight type which are generally shorter because I think I sensed the same thing, that they were too short. And my original with its sharp rocks was an attempt at a cobblestone type path. I don't agree about putting all the trees in buckets, the others are supposed to be native to the landscape. Well, this has been very, very helpful. I love how much the scene has changed since talking to you guys and how much more can be done to it. I have to put it on the back burner for a bit. But I definately want to make more changes to it before posting it in my gallery. I'll put a link in here when I get that done in case anyone's curious about the what the end result will end up looking like. And if there's anymore ideas for improvement on this, I'd love to hear them, thanks again everyone! Ang

It took a lot of tries but I finally got the grain going almost perfect. It really helped knowing that I was using the right thingies. Thanks again. Now I'm trying to get the rocks to look a bit more natural, one at a time. It's going to take a while. :-)

Thanks big_hoovie,
Will have to try this right away. I made the bench myself and would like to use it in the future but I want to have a good material attached to it. I see what you mean about the righthand side. It needs a branch or shadow or something coming in off the right side. LOL, I'm looking at my desk and thinking how nice it would be if it were as clean as the one you created. Brief description of mine - 3 beer bottles, 1 bowl, a back scratcher, tons of papers, lots of pens, and much more.
:)
Thread: Measurements | Forum: Bryce
I am a real newbie but I just use the attributes numbers and pretend they are in inches. Once my object is done I can resize it if I need to. So an 8 ft door would be 96 in the Y attributes. Three feet wide would be 36 in the x or z and the other coordinate would be the thickness say 3 or 4 inches. Hope this helps. Ang

OMG I've been caught by my teacher. :) Hi Sylvia, I've been doing research. So nice to see you here. I don't know if there are other places like this but I think Renderosity is the greatest for getting help. I've already gotten bunches of help not only here but in some of the other forums too. Ang PS I'm having lots of fun with week 5's assignment.

Love that leaf link, can't wait to give it a try. Also, the link to the free d/l's looks great. There's just so much to learn. Only two more weeks of my class then I'll be on my own with Bryce, I expect I will be here quite often this summer. :) Thanks, Ang

Thanks Rochr but I don't have Poser yet, next on my wish list. Interesting Aldaron, I'll have to play around this summer with the terrain editor. So for now I will have to live with the flat leaves, lol. I appreciate both of you helping me.
