Thank you all for your input and suggestions!! I've seemed to solve the dilema I've been having lately with Poser 6 & Carrara that led me to question the issue of swapfiles... Monday, I reformatted my C: drive which XP Pro is on... at the same time I updated my mainboards bios (I'm not a noob {do pc repair and upgrades on the side} and have done this a million times) HOWEVER I forgot to change any settings in the bios that I always do to enable optimal performance... I even forgot to change the fsb from the default and everything... my processor wasn't even running at it's normal clock speed!! It's been a really busy week at work, my daughter is on spring break and I guess I'm getting a case of in your 30's alzheimer!!! LOL!! Thank you all guys for your replies!!! Gerard!

Hope everything works out ok for you Casette! I've been there before too (and my wife & I split up shortly after) but I bounced back and life is ok now! Keep your chin up and keep bouncing cuz once down, you can only go up!! Not to offend, but from my experience... pick up the slack around the house while the wife is at work... and maybe do a nice romantic surprise dinner for her one night when she gets home from work... Really? Not for loading textures and geometries into ram and such while rendering? That's whack dood!! If that's the case then that's pretty cool... I suppose I should just add more ram then all should be good! (only have 1.5gb) Thanks! Any other thoughts?

p.s. posted similar thread in the Poser forum and recieved one helpful reply (recomending pagedefrag) and another stating that Windows programmers know infinitely more about swapfiles than all of Renderosity users so to stick with those settings... Sadly I wasn't satisfied with THAT answer so am seeking fellow Carrara users opinions!!! Hmmmmm wonder why there's so many windows updates (BUG FIXES) and Service Packs Galore during the lifespan of the os??????!!!!!!!

Oh, and in my humble opinion I think Victoria Beckham looks more like P5 Judy (or Poser 1 female figure) if ya have to compare her to any poser characters!!!! LOL!!

SPice Girls First cd came out in 1996... and they went really big internationally in 1997... Dark days those were!!! Mind you Geri Halliwell was a cutie!! (I used to work in a cd store [HMV] back then and was forced to listen to them all the time!!!) G

Just finished some house cleaning and cropping and thumbing a new pic for the gallery and I had a looksey at your gallery... Man "Quest's Toll" turned out GREAT!!! I still use the ripples filter you told me about!!!

Hi Acadia, What version of Poser are you using? In P6 you can change your render size to whatever you wish. If I remember correctly you can in P4 & P5 too. My preview wiindow is set to 1024 X 768 and I usually render to 1600 X 1200 or 2000 X 1500... If you're using P6 just change it by holding your cursor down on the little sideways arrow at the top left of the preview window and you'll access the render settings, the render dimensions etc. :) Gerard
