This is the scientific explanation for the effect: Quoted: "Many kinds of color phenomena (particularly in gems and metals) arise because the incident light is absorbed by atoms, and this disturbs the electrons in various ways that create the apparent color. fluorescence arises in natural materials for several different reasons. In the case of fluorescent paints and inks, the incident light disturbs the atom sufficiently to cause it to emit a photon in response, usually at a different wavelength than the light absorbed. At the same time, the paints or inks absorb or reflect light in the way normal paints do. the "fluorescent" effect arises in the wavelengths that are emitted from the atom, rather than reflected, causing the "glowing" effect." Bottom line is that in order to get the effect that you want you will need the proper ink or paint because the paint is actually emitting light. The next best approximation is as bonestructure suggested. The following link will allow you to obtain the RGB colour values of fluorescent paint with the eyedropper. http://www.goldenpaints.com/products/color/unique/fluor.php Shane

Tantarus, Try this site. There are lots of texture types here. Even if you can't find one that is actually made of gold a little bit of colour/hue tweaking in PS should give you something you can use. http://www.mayang.com/textures/ Also try here. If you scroll down the page a bit you will find a texture archive in the left hand column, which will allow you to search for different texture types http://eye.box.sk/ Shane

Thread: Reducing text on a path | Forum: Photoshop
Tantarus, I'm not having any problems in getting the text on the path or positioning it along the path. My original question at the start of the thread was asking if there was a way of getting the text to reduce in font size from the first to the last letter other than editing the font size of each individual letter entered in the sentence. If you take your example, which has a uniform font size along the length of the sentence, and rasterize it or peform any scale/skew/warp transformation on the text as a whole, it distorts the text and moves the text from the original path. The reason behind the question is that my kids are doing some creative writing for school and are trying to get the effect of their writing going down a drain like water going down the plug hole in a bath. The text needs to go in a spiral and get smaller as it gets closer to the plug hole. Shane

Slynky, If you can edit the script then that may be just what I need. Time to hit the books and learn something about action scripts. Thanks for your help. Shane

Slynky, If I was to make an action script wouldn't that record all changes made during the creation process? For example if I made 100 brush strokes then deleted all of them because I decided on using a different type of brush would'nt those 100 brush strokes form part of the action script? Shane
