Yes CEB. That was the first cr2 I tried. Well Thanks to PhilC I have now got it 99% done (he did the finishing touches on the Joint Parameters -- Yea Phil!!!), I still need to morph the sleeves and other good stuff. Be prepared! This will be available SOON! James
Thread: Good Idea? Poor execution..need an expert "Makeup Materials" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Unfortunatly the number of faces/triangles that make up most parts of the poser figures, do not allow you to get an exact region. Sometimes you get lucky. I.E. "..For good then for evil" post I did. The purple cloth around her head, neck and chest were all just done with the grouping tool. But that even is not exact. I wanted a rounder transition around the check and chin. It just can not be done with the grouping tool. The best thing for the grouping tool I've found is in conjuntion with magnets! If you really want to get fairly percise onwhat you want to pull, push or strech, group, then assign the mag zone to the group. I still think Maps are the way to go to place textures on the face. Bushi, The head, neck and chest are object-group-painted. I just used the Group tool for those. So, NO, they are not part of the dress. James PS: Oh markm, the Evil Queen from Snow White was the inspiration.

Yes Markm, Tried the trick of using another "cr2" file. I've got much closer, But things are still screwy. The forearms, hip, chest and thighs work, (well somewhat), but I can't get the shldr's and collar's to fit. I'm sure eventually someone will come to my rescue. Or maybe by then I'll figure it all out. James

LOL, and a giggle See I knew some people would not read the original message ... "Note: Before anyone tries to point out that this dress has no roots in history. You're correct. This is truly just a fantasy dress, made to look somewhat like a dress between the 12th and 16th century. My poetic license." It's Elven, and no pictures were availble hehehehehehe. Don't worry about it tho. I got some great critisim. And as soon as I can figure out how to get this thing conformed it will be available. James

here is the one I shall post when done. I'ts all Standard Poser 4 Stuff so I should be able to give it away. And Traveler. I did indeed try to match all the centers of the parts to the Poser fem, but still no luck. I know I'm close, but it still alludes me. James
Thread: Anaglyphs (Red/Blue images) 101 in Poser - Interested? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
http://www.castroonline.com/temptrash/rgtut/index.html Ok I threw together a tut also. Yours is great FastTraxx. Check it out and see if it works and is even viable. I've included a downloadable "pz3" file that has everything set up including a target prop. And the exact positions of the left and right camera positions. And when you composite the final image, there is no extra fiddling. (It should be fuss free). What's one more tut. It can't hurt, maybe confuse a little. James

OK, I guess I have to start writing it. It should be posted tomorrow. As to your question DLM. Yes the degree on the "X" is extreamly important. it has to equal about the 6" distance of an average persons eyes. And a little trick most people forget. ... Tracking. You must also swivel slightly as you move across. Well all that will be in the text/tutorial file(s). James
Thread: Thanks John West! Galadrial dress WIP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok Allerleiraugh, I'll take anything that gives me a better idea of the textiles. I can hopefully rework them. Send them my way. Anything you have, even if not too clear. Just so i get a good sense of placement and such. As the textiles didn't survive the ages, I think the web sites also went the way of antiquity. I used to see a lot of them, but now with so many sites, the search engines take a lot of looking and re-looking. And Galadirals texture. I'm still working on that one, but I got the morphs done. (Morph Manager for the MAC?!?!?! Soon?) James

Way kewl! To me the figure and the skeleton really pop out now. I bet this looks really great on a 17" monitor in a dark room, in millions of colors and filling the screen. :-) keep up the great work! James

Very nice indeed! This certianly is the closest I've seen to what I'm looking for. Perfect collar line! Great waist! I wouldn't flare the sleaves..but who am I to complain. ;-) And as I can almost make out ... looks like a great set of tassels. Post it PLEASE. I could do some Fabulous tex maps for this one! Thread: Transmap hair to Bryce | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, on to the actual transmap. Once all is loaded and at least the textures are showing up corectly. You need to separate the hair group. "shift" + "control" click the head area, and select all the hair pieces from the pop-up menu. Group them for easy access. NOTE: With some transmaps there are several peices that need different maps. i.e. Kyokos hair has 6 pieces, 3 which share common maps. Select the pieces that use the same tex map. You can subgroup them if you like. Click on one sub group. Say the inside pieces. Click "m" to go to the materials editor. You will have a pic map, but no alpha map. Click to edit the picture. Select the middle square and choose load. Find the corrsponding trans map, and load that in. If the right hand square shows the hair tex map through, all is well. If not click the half black/half white circle to flip the translucency. Click ok Set all sliders to "0". Click on the lower transparency under column "a" (or whichever column the tex resides). This should get you started, you may have to play with setting . Just play until the nano preview reflects the trans setting you want. Repeat this for all the peices. hope this helps and doesn't confuse. James I'd do a proper tut. but I don't have the time right now.
Thread: Transmap hair to Bryce | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
GOM, It's not a fiddleing thing. Textures is as textures are. Transmappin in Bryce requires that you edit in the Materials editor. First tip: I found that at least on the MAC with the latest patches, the textures are not transferring over as expacted, or at all. There is hope! Just make a note of EVERY texture used in the poser figure, including props clothing and hair. Open Bryce 4. Create a sphere. click "m" to edit the matierial. Click column "a" to add a material. Change to picture mode, click on edit picture. Now load all the textures that your imported .obj file will use. making sure that you use the same textures that are in your Poser figure. i.e. P4maleNudeTex.jpg <- note the extentions. Exit materials editor without saving. "x" the textures are now all loaded. Now delete the sphere and load in your .obj file. VIOLA! All the textures are applied to the Poser import. As for the transmapping. I will do a follow up on that. HINT: You need to go into the pictures and load the transmap into the alpha channel of the texture. See next post. James
