I've d/led it and am going to take it for a spin... I agree that if it was made poser friendly I would end up buying it (at the 50% off price) provided the demo goes well. Thanks for the link. -Rob

bloodsong, There has been a problem in recent versions that would align UV from the inside, as opposed to the way you thought you were looking at it. You probably wouldn't notice it unless you used text on the map... which is how I test my maps. You would have to flip UV's horizontally when exporting the new file. -Rob

Jeff, he has mentioned a few things to me... he's working on adding a few new things. :) -Rob

Nice work Trav! I've stayed away from creating images with females in them for the sake of doing my part towards equal representation. Not that its bad, but so many people render the heck out of Posette, I've stuck to rendering the dudes... I may have to actually render some women now. >:)> -Rob
Thread: Credit | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I really hate politics, and I was somewhat hesitant to post this, but here goes anyway... You may very well have put plenty of time into your image(s), but one thing you seem to be forgetting is the time put into the prop you found to be a blessing. Depending on the model, hours turn into days and sometimes weeks. So the time you put into finding who helped you achieve your result is negated by the time you didn't spend building the textures/props/figures yourself. Credit is the least you can give. The thing that is saddening is the mentality that the people who don't/can't model think that the people that do/can owe them something... The creator of whatever they created has every right to put whatever restrictions/conditions on their creation as they see fit. In return the end user has every right not to use it because they can't agree to those conditions. Are you also suggesting that you would not take offense to someone basically "stealing" your image, which you spent hours building because they didn't feel it was worth it to find out who actually created it? My guess, which is probably pretty close to correct, is that even hobbyists aspire to establish a name for themselves. Not giving them due credit only hinders their efforts during your pursuit for acknowledgment for your image. Remember the price you are paying... do you really think those people who have helped you with their free stuff will continue to do half the work for you if you don't extend a simple acknowledgment? You are entitled to your opinions as am I, but perhaps you should look at it from the other side of the fence before you commit to the side your on? -Rob Trav: sorry had typos.... thank you for comment

I'm assuming you used a circular IK-chain to accomplish the chain following the hand(refer to chat log with Larry Wienberg)? I've been playing with a few myself. Or have you figured out a way to get dual parents without use of IK-chains? I guess I could just download it and figure it out for myself, but I'm in the middle of several large projects and thought asking you would be less time consuming. Thanks for any insight you might give. -Rob
Thread: CR2 Format question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nerd, There is a way to prevent bending it too much from the creator's side. Use of limits in the .cr2. You can turn on limits for anything in the .cr2 and not have it dependent on whether or not the user has limits enabled. Even with 50 joints, its a fairly easy task. I did it with 65 joints and it works without a hitch. You need a text editor like EditPad to do it (because of its ability to open LARGE text files, which is what a .cr2 is). If you want more info on it, contact me via email or ICQ. -Rob

The conforming thing is well.... going to be a problem unless you combine the mesh. As for the .pz3-.cr2 thing, its easy to fix. The problem is that either the "storageOffset" or the "setGeomHandlerOffset" gets set to something other than "0 0 0" by poser when it writes the new file. Change them back to "0 0 0" and the mangled figures will be a thing of the past. One of the Meta guys gave that cure in the chat with them a while back. -Rob

Why not save the file from poser as a .pz3, rename it to .cr2, run it thru Cr2Edit and rip out the lights and cameras.... save it and viola. You still have references to multiple figures... and you have your combined result. -Rob
Thread: in .CR2 language, how can a body part read its geometry from a file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nerd, yes, but... if your goal is to have geometry switched by use of the "genital" command in the menu, you would need a seperate .obj for the "switch". -Rob

My comment above is just the result of MANY crashes due to NS, and plenty of lost data along with it. Both suggestions above work, I just wish NS would stop locking up. Like I said, I'm an avid NS user... -Rob :(
