Yeah, I agree that would be a really useful feature. As it is, you have to post to a thread in order to get the notification. What if the thread is a question you want to know the answer to? I'd like to know when someone replies, without having to waste bandwidth posting a "me too". Some way to "watch" specific threads would be great! Eirian
Thread: Would you buy these? In need of advice... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can never get enough quality stuff for Michael. Some of these are really lovely. My thought, though, is that few people would pay for the morphs alone. You'd need to include a texture and CR2 at minumum to get a reasonable level of interest. Eowyn, your freestuff is always high quality and I'm sure anything you sold would be of equal quality. I've said before I'd have been willing to pay for Shari...the same is true of these morphs. yours Eirian

Wow, this thread gets longer and longer. Thorne, thanks for the analogy. I get what you mean: selling something rather than giving it away gives you a (limited) traceability and it's a lot less likely therefore that your creations could be misused. It's horrible to think such things can happen, against the wishes of the creator, but of course they can. That's the world we live in. All the very best, Thorne, whatever you decide to do. I hope to see your fairies return in some form, someday soon, as this community will surely be a poorer place without them. Blessed be Eirian

This is so sad. Thorne, I've seen some of those flamewars, so I completely understand where you're coming from, and I can't help but suport your decision. I wish the world were a different place...like maybe the one you've created at Thorneworks, full of beauty and innocence. But the world isn't like that. I am confused by one thing though. How will selling the fairies rather than giving them away resolve the problem? This isn't an accusation of capitalism, honestly. I'm just confused by the idea that that's the answer. I too, hope you'll reconsider. But I understand your situation, and support it. yours Eirian
Thread: Q about Dmentia's Posavic and Bobby Sue | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On the one hand, I can see how there's not as much point to remapping Vicky for P4 textures. Vicki's by far the better model. OTOH, I have a couple of really wonderful P4 textures that I rarely use now, because I prefer Vicki's features. If that sort of remapping could be done successfully (say for V2P4, so I could still use the P4 clothing) I'd suspect be first in the queue to buy/download. As far as I know, no one's done it yet. Thread: ultra real looking hair textures for ultrasalon hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
They look great! The green is a little too bright to look natural, though. I mean, I do realise green hair is never "natural" but the colour you've used doesn't look like a dye job, it looks metallic. Try toning down the highlights a little. There is a bit too much highlight in the one below it, too, but actually that would be an advantage with some light sets. Just depends on how it's illuminated. Wonderful work overall, though. Will these be available soon? yours Eirian
Thread: Freshman in Vickie and Mike (3d-daz) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I know what you mean about modifying Vicky being hard. All those dials are daunting at first. But it's so much fun watching what they do! And the possiblities for character creation are endless. There are plenty of free textures for Vickie. Look in the Millie/Vicky section in freestuff. Victoria 1 and 2 take the same textures, and "Millie" is just another name for Victoria. That confused the heck out of me at first! You could also check out the marketplace here. Some of the textures are very reasonably priced, and there's a far wider choice than Daz offers. yours Eirian

P4 Male clothing won't fit Michael. Victoria 2 from Daz includes Vicki2P4 - in other words, a Victoria-based model that will take P4 female clothing. I'm basically only a hobbyist with Poser and the cost of both Victoria and Mike did make me hesitate. All you get is the models and CR2. No textures, no hair, no clothing...you have to obtain all those separately. But, believe me, they're worth every penny. I never use the P4 male any more, and only occasionally use Posette. The range of things you can do with the Daz models, the sheer versatility especially of Vicky 2 is stunning if all you're used to is the P4 models. What is different? Everything, almost. There are loads more morphs and dials, the models are more realistic and can be moved and posed in many different ways. The P4 characters, no matter how hard you work on them, will always retain the same look: body shape, face and so on. There are things about Mike and Vicky you can't change, but so much more you can. Just look at the different characters you find in the Poser gallery here. The additional cost need not be great (if you can resist the temptation of the marketplace, that is). There are plenty of free textures out there for Vicky, fewer for Mike, but they are there. Kozaburo's hair is free (incredible quality) and easy to scale for Victoria if it's not made for her, and a couple of his styles look good on Mike, too, with a little work. yours Eirian.
Thread: Need help with hair. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
(Someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this, I'm sure...) As far as I know, you can only use one hr2 file with each figure. Those are the files that come under "hair" in Poser. But you can get hair in cr2 ("Figures") format and as props - and you can apply as many of those to a figure as you like. (At least until you run out of memory anyhow). So the answer to your question would be yes, you can have more than one type of hair on a figure, but all except one would have to be in a format other than the native "hair" type. yours Eirian

Thanks, everyone! I found Debra's site and VIP, and her owl looks perfect. Can't find Anton's peacock anywhere though :-( Well, I'll keep on searching... Thanks again. yours Eirian

Jewelry - for Mike, not Vicky and Posette. Sure, you can adjust theirs for another model, but there's very little around that looks like something a man would wear. Eirian.

There are several free hair props in freestuff area here. But the best place to look would be Kozaburo's site. His hair is as good as, or better than the stuff you have to pay for. http://www.digitalbabes2.com/ yours Eirian
