Excellent image! I'll suggest that you add something in the "middleground" area. You have the background and foreground covered well. The only middleground action is the mermaid on the top left. Perhaps add some vegetation or something that keeps the focus as it is now, but fills in the blank areas without overdoing it. Also, perhaps work with the rocks and decrease the diffusion a bit and ambience, and maybe add a slight more bump. Superb first image nonetheless. Bryan

Thank again all...I've made the adjustments that Flick suggested, and I'm currently working on Death's "light" suggestion (btw, shadows were turned on in skylab, now they are off). Lastly, I'll be adding underbrush to the trees, making the middleground more pronounced, and making the background trees smaller as Lyrra suggested. I'll upload a new raw image shortly. Bryan

Thanks all for your help. I am going to try another shot at the reflective metal look again with this new info. I'll probably still render in bryce rather than importing a backdrop image into poser as pnevai suggested...though that would work. I'll repost an image using your guys' suggestions and see what happens...though I kinda like the rough look in my newer post :P Bryan

Thanks Lyrra...I think that, combined with Flickerstreak's advice, is gonna help alot...I'll post the outcome in just a little bit. I really appreciate it. Bryan

thanks again...I read the tutorial, however it doesn't address the problem of having to tab through all the parts when the figure is layered with clothes. Bryan

I just rendered the helm in the pixelated picture to show that I wasn't getting the same effect as I was in Poser. What I decided to do was to export the poser figure again with no textures to the body or the clothes and go in bryce and apply the texture to the body parts 1 by 1, and then to the clothes parts 1 by 1. However, I will apply metal materials from bryce presets to see how they work out on the armor clothes. I cannot select all the character body parts at once since there are clothes on top of her, so I'm having to click tab to get to the next part. Is there an easier way to get all the character body parts selected, then all the clothes on top selected? Thanks for the link too...it did help out some. Bryan

Thank you for responding. Is there any way to map a character to a .jpg background image, like a mountain scene, and have shadows show up like that? or do I need to import an actual prop floor or something? thanks again. Bryan
