Thread: Enhancements to the MarketPlace Purchase History pages | Forum: Community Center
As a point of comparison, it takes me less time to find a customer on reports page, than it does to find a merchant on my purchases page! I do stand corrected, yes it is much better here in a lot of ways, as I do business on both sides of the street, so to speak at several places. This being one of them. However, in the particular change, I did like the set up much better before!

I ended up making the item myself, because I got tired of waiting. I wanted a special effect in a render and I was positive I had purchased a FX set. Now I can't find it and it takes forever to go through all the pages. So I wound up creating the effect myself, maybe I should come up with my own special effect package! ;) Oh well, the render is done, and I should be posting it on Monday in the gallery, so you can judge for yourself. Maybe if we had the option of a link on the purchases page to show all purchases at once. Then when we are just downloading the recent purchases, that keeps things simple. BUT! If we want to look for an old item that has been updated, or who did I buy such and such from to credit in a render, or a filename of a package that had be purchased or leave a review, it would not be such a problem.

It really slows me down and cost me time. This is one change that really needs to be rethought. I spent half an hour looking through the records for something I bought last night and gave up. Now this morning, I received notice of an update, and went about trying to find it. This is really a pain. I started at 8:30 system time, and I have only been able to check 2 pages, as I am waiting for the system to advance. And why, why did they only put the link at the top. So that we have to scroll through the page to look and then back up to the top to go to the next page. Page 3 is finally up. Its 8:39 and I finally found it on page 3. But, I am curious as to how long it will take me to scroll through all the pages and so I am going to continue. Besides maybe I can find the product I never did last night. And I am on a DSL line!

Quite frankly, it will make it harder to do product reviews. Because I won't want to scroll through the pages to find the right one!

Quite frankly, I am not in favor of this change. I used to use the explorer find command to find out something on a previous purchase. Now, I have to wait and wade through upteen different pages. And quite frankly it didn't load any quicker. Suggestion: to have the twenty most recent on one page, and the rest on a second page. I think that would be better.

I have been using Flash for years. And you are right, less is more. However, there are some that are quite good. Quite frankly, I haven't done any yet. Mainly because I won't do it, just to do it. If I can not get a classy one done, I won't do it. The animation, if any should be slow, it shouldn't blink, maybe a fade effect or something else. The problem is, just like with word processors, people get caught up on using all those fonts. They fall into a trap of trying to use all the bells and whistles, when you don't need to. I think EVO's ad was one I saw that really rocked. It was done quite well. Until I have time to do something like that, I will stay with the standard jpeg.
