I've had a similar issue. A pair of old boots, which in poser are made to look like leather, come out in Vue as metallic. The problem with changing the material setting in Vue is, once you open the item, it uses all the same textures for th eitem (A warning VUE gives) and it messes up the boots texture. Anyone know what I am talking about, or how to get around it?

Actually, both. The problem happens with the freaks own morphs and the M3 facial morphs (which are needed to allow for any adjusting of the face, like open mouth, blink, etc). What is funny is, this has been happening on and off for weeks. Now that I post it here, and everyone so kindly replied with thoughts and suggestions, it has not happened again. Its working fine, lol. Guess one just needs to vent a little to make poser do what it should. Thanks for the friendly Voodoo everyone. :)

Yea, it is the only model in the scene (Im using the Freak). I have over a gig of ram and over 4 gigs of swap file space, so memory isnt an issue. I have even tried using the injectors before doing anything aside from loading the default Freak model. And the results are the same, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It would appear, at least for me, that persistance is the key. If I keep trying, I get it to work.:)

I do have the !daz folder in the main poser 5 runtime, thanks. ALl my old poser 4 stuff is in its own runtime. I always make sure to have the right body part selected (made that mistake once, won't do it again, lol) and I do make sure to reselect the body part after the injection to make sure I see the injections. Still, it does not work 1005 of the time. It could just be something a little flaky with the way poser, the injector system and some piece of my hardware, get along. Thanks for all the great replies with suggestions. I appreciate it.

I am using poser 5, and I do have the !DAZ folder in runtime. Its just a weird issue. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt work. Sometimes its quick, sometimes it takes a long time. Its frustrating. The project I was crying abuot earlier, however, I got working. :)

It could be poser, that is very true Aeneas. However, Daz just started this whole injector stuff fairly recently. It used to be that the characters came with all the morphs in them, and thus no need for this injector system. I understand why they did the injector system, to save on model size and get a little extra cash from us having to buy extra packages such as the facial expressions. But wow..this is so frustrating. :( I have looked at cinema4D a bit, myself. it looks like a great package.

Thread: Can I put my runtime folder on a different drive? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As mazak said, with Poser 5, sure. I have 3 runtime folders. Two on the same drive as poser and one on a different drive. Works beautifully.

haha. I am taking it easy. :) Just wanted to make sure I was not misunderstood, is all. So you do render the image after all. It seems most people that have sent me info, don't actually render. They use the document window image as their pre-post work image. I've never even looked at the make animation setup, I'll sure look into it. This sounds like it will give a more detailed (and as you pointed out, less size restricted) image. Thanks for this extra info.

Riddokun, I meant no insult with my post. Your tutorial appears very easy, and you point out every little thing (its funny i cut and pasted my install path of your tutorial rather then your web site, which is what I meant to do so people knew what I was talking about, lol). Anyhow, an example of what I meant by "having to know a little" was things such as this from your tutorial: "Then put it into "cartoon /w line" mode and antialias document (or render it bigger, antialiased, as a single animation frame).Remember to make your render at least TWICE bigger than your expected final picture size. " I now know what it meant, but for the life of me I could not figure out how to RENDER an image and have it use these document settings. Now I know you don't actually render but use the image in the preview window instead. It was basically my lack of knowledge with poser that was causing my issues. Your tutorial is very well done. Thanks for the image Jerr3d, that makes it a bit easier. Compiler, thank you! I do have it after all. I didn't go that deep in the menu (my fault, I didn' guess it was a light setting). Thank you all for your responces. I know see how this is done (and will be looking at your textures Crescent!!)

Jerr3d, thanks but that is the tutorial I tried using and seem to still be missing something. Compiler, where is this toon effect? I do not seem to have it by default in the material room. I can add several different nodes, but none that say toon. Thank you both for your responces. :)
