I've been using the VSS Test material on M4 - which is great.
BUT...
I needed an additional template for face and lips (because of displacement), so I added the template for each, added copy rules, plugged them into the right channels.
I also added displacement nodes on the templates, with a blank image map, so I could set the values for each (because they are usually lower than the skin template).
I copied the skin template setup to the face and lip templates, so the settings would be the same, except the displacements.
Then I ran it.
First of all, it ignored every single displacement map, as well as all bump maps, I had to connect them manually. (No biggie)
Worse, the face and lip textures were not there. No map, and nothing plugged into diffuse -- although it is plugged in on the template.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I can't for the life of me work out what it is.

Ok, totally OT
Don't even ask how long I looked for a copy of Broadsword and the Beast on CD. (It finallly came out, yay, and I grabbed it uh... years ago.) Looooooooooove that album.
And yes, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were played. Along with a lot of others. Though I don't think in Discotheques (at least not in the 80's). We had proper rock clubs for that. :P
(I practically grew up at the Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg (before the one in Augsburg ever existed) and worked there quite a while, too.)

Go to Object, Create Camera
The Aux camera is the Revolving one.
You can also add a Dolly one.

I think I got around it - sort of -, but it took some doing.
(And for the record, I'm using PoserPro 2010)
If anyone wants to do this as well... Here is what I did.
First of all I created a new Aux Cam.
Went and changed the settings to the way I liked it, renamed the camera.
Did the same with the next one.
Then I switched to my new main camera, set Preferred State to it -- and the cameras now load on the new document.
That's a very old trick and it still works -- but only if you don't mess with "Perspective" of the camera, because it will not save the scale. (Focal doesn't use the scale and it makes a difference whether you change focal or perspective.)
------- In case anyone wonders: If you change the perspective dial, it changes the scale of the camera. Which means if you save it, and load it, the scale doesn't load with it (it's calculated when you change it, I think) and your camera is in the wrong position. (i.e. you get a great view of the feet, instead of the whole body, because the scale changed instead of the distance.)
Since Focal doesn't make the camera bigger/smaller, but changes position instead, you don't have that problem when you load it.

Nifty trick Les :) I'll have to try that.

Okay, I can add to this now.
I created a new Aux Camera, set it up to my liking, named it...
Went to save it, selected the camera in the subset...
If I try to load it in a new scene -- nada.
Unless I create the camera first with the same name, it won't add a new one.
Well, if I have to jump through all the hoops of renaming the new cameras each time...I might as well go the whole hog and set them up each time.
sigh
I've been asking for an easy way to add a new camera for years, it never did happen.
Mabye when we get to PoserPro 2084, they'll let us do this.

FWIW - I like the second one better. :)
She's not skinny as a rake, and looks sexy and has tons of 'tude. That lady is proud of her body -- as she should be.
Most of all...
She looks like a WOMAN, not like a coat rack.
(Bent leg notwithstanding)

Yeah, but...
That again only saves a preset, doesn't it? It doesn't ADD a new camera, right? (It just loads the preset onto the camera selected in the subset - thereby wiping out whatever is on the camera in the first place.)
Camera dots won't do me any good. First I forget to set them, and then I don't remember which I stored.
What I'd like to do (and I might edit the CR2 rather heavily to see if I can do it) is have my own cameras load in the camera dropdown as an addition to stuff like Main/Face/Pose etc. on startup.
I'm going to guess the only way to do this is to edit the main CR2?

I'm not overly enthused by that outfit. The wings look okay, but alas...
How long until the next disappearing act?
I bought Alice 4, the "definitive, last ever, Alice", but I have to wonder...
(And I agree on the bug eyed thing. I never liked her eyes. She has good body shapes though)

Thread: Poser Muscle Morphs Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I truly resent the fact that the only way to get the EXP tool is to spend about 150 bucks on the advanced setup tools.
I have the RDNA M4 Ultra morphs, and since they are not exp morphs, they break everything in the book if you load them with anything other than base and morphs++.
If I had the EXP tool, I'd make an EXP inject for the darn set.
In fact, I'd make a lot of the custom dials into one big inject where I'd get rid of everything I never use.
But alas, I'm not paying $150 for the privilege.
(If anyone made EXP morphs for the Ultra set, please let me know if I can get a copy lol.)
Honestly, if someone wrote a tool that lets you custom make characters with selective morphs, where you can get rid of the ones you don't use... and which retained the grouping, I'd be all over it.
I'd buy the EXP tool on its own, I don't need the rest of the setup tools. But with Gen 5 probably around the corner and then probably not using "old technology", I'm not going to buy it.
But I know exactly where you're coming from with the saved characters not working after you inject another morph set. Happens to me all the time -- and it happened just now with a bought character set.
Once I'd injected it, no other dials worked anymore.
Will experiment some more with it tomorrow, but if I get the same results (dials not changing anything), I'm going to send him back.

I have a scan of the puzzle piece. :)
Not rating the chances of this actually being doable though :P

Okay, chiming in.
Claudia Black, who plays Vala in Stargate, is Australian -- and does one of the most atrocious British accents I've heard in a long time.
Awful. Cringeworthy.

Thanks guys :)
Diogenes - the next one is called Howl, and is due to be released in June 2011, by Lyrical Press. :) (I've been busy :P)
Smitten is actually the second one I sold, but the first to be released. :)
But yes, I'm always working on the next one. :)

LOL David, click the banner to get it :)
As for the movie... I'm open to offers! :P
I should mention... all four of us in the "A Passionate Christmas" anthology are donating part of the proceeds to Race for Life, to help kick cancer in the butt. :)
