Hi Liz - There is sort of a work around for the current version... Press control+A to select all, then press the keypad '*' key once or twice (you can also press shift-plus on the keypad for finer resolution.) Then left click and drag the selection (entire map) around until you see what you want to edit and press enter. You can now work on the "zoomed" area. To restore the map, press control+A again, followed by '=' to fit the map to the screen. I also press keypad-minus about 8 times to move the map away from the edge, and press enter. It's not pretty, but it works =) For UVMapper Pro, I've written a true zoom feature that's much easier to work with. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also, I'm sorry to hear about your parents - I wish all of you the best, Steve

The latest version of UVMapper for Windows (0.25e) does handle updating materials/groups/regions with UVs files. Just check the appropriate box when importing a .uvs file. I haven't had the chance to update the Mac version yet, but hope to get around to it before too long. HTH, Steve

Lannie - I've written a few new seleciton tools for UVMapper Pro. If you'd like me to try dividing up and mapping the model for you, please feel free to send it along. I promise not to use your model for anything other than mapping it for you. Steve stevecox@optonline.net

Hi Jim - I can take a look at the model if you'd like. I have written a couple of new facet tools for UVMapper Pro and would love to try them out on your model. I promise not to use the model for anything other than helping you. If not, no problem... Steve stevecox@optonline.net

Geekholder - thanks =) gryffnn - I've always appreciated it when companies ship both version (Mac/Win) of a program together. I'm thinking about a way to allow those who buy one version to use the other as well... When I update my site I'll try to include information about how this will work. Miss Nancy - thanks for the kind words, and the helpful tips. I hope to be able to look into this soon. On a side note I just upgraded my iBook to 160M ram, have a 20Gig hard drive ready to install (wish me luck!) and OS 9.1/X for when everything else has been done. Yee-ha! Steve

Sorry about this - I've been working on UVMapper Pro and haven't had the time to update the Mac version for a little while. I hope to get UVMapper Pro Windows out next month and then work on porting it to the Mac. While I'm doing that I'm hoping to get the Mac version of UVMapper to the same point as the Windows version. I'm just about done two other projects (for my real job) and expect to have a bit of time to work on UVMapper & UVMapper Pro soon. Thanks for your patience, Steve

(whoops, that should have been "haven't decided exactly what I'll be asking for it yet") And yes, I plan to port UVMapper Pro to the Mac after I've released the Windows version =) Steve

Hi Mike - UVMapper will continue to be free, but UVMapper Pro will be shareware. I have decided exactly what I'll be asking for it yet, but I promise to keep it as low as I can. My goal is for it to be accessable to just about anyone who might find it useful. Steve

That's too bad. It really suprises me how many programs alter the geometry of a model unnecessarily. And thanks for the kind words Dmentia, they're much appreciated =) Steve

Another thing you can try is to load your new model into UVMapper and export the UVs. Then load your original model and import UVs. As long as DeepPaint 3D hasn't modified the geometry (by triangulating, etc.) this should work. At least you should be able to save the work you've done. Good luck, Steve

Also, uvmapper.com. My old home page will be redirected there before long. Let me know if you have any questions about UVMapper once you download it and get the chance to try it out. Good luck, SteveThread: HELP-Vicky has separate head & body texture maps. How was it done? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Not sure about the grouping tool in Poser (haven't used it myself, perhaps someone else can chime in here on that...) I've written a tutorial on remapping Poser models. It was originally for Poser 3, but I believe it works fine with Poser 4. Click on the link to see it. HTH, SteveThread: HELP-Vicky has separate head & body texture maps. In UVMapper, choose Edit->Select->by Material and select one (or more) of your materials. Then press '' to hide the selection and press enter (you can find more of these keys under Help->Hot keys.) Then export the texture map being sure to select 'exclude hidden facets' on the export options dialog. After you have your first map, press '' again to swap the two pages and repeat. If you have any questions, let me know. Good luck, Steve
