Quote - I've only ever copied a runtime over like that after a HD crash from my back ups. After re-installing poser I delete the runtime and replace it with the back up, now I know that works, I've had to do it twice with F****d up HD's
Still that different from copying the poser 6 base runtime over the poser 7 base runtime.

You'd think so...but did you you check to make sure newFemaleNudeHifemaleNudeHiP3.obj wasn't already there and you overwrote it?
Cause that could be 4 different figures from 4 different versions..
I'd have to check to be sure but that's my point.

Quote - its not a bug! its a special feature!
That's more apt than you probably meant it to be.
Poser is trying to be helpful and remember where you were....that doesn't mean that is were you want to be.

No, it's the whole copy full runtime base 1 into full runtime base 2
Copying by item carefully, being sure not to copy over important files has never been a problem for me either. But the full dump method always seems to break poser.
Especially the geometries...those are linked based on where they were to begin with...not where he put them now.
That will cause all kinds of problems.

That's your problem.
You NEVER copy runtimes into other runtimes. It breaks poser.
You need to link your runtimes.
Steps...Move the runtimes back out.
Uninstall Poser 7
Reinstall Poser 7
Open poser 7,
Open the libraries
Click on the folder icon with an arrow pointing up until you can't any more
Click on the + at the bottom of the library
Add folders with runtimes in them.
Repeat until all your runtimes are added
Then open all file
MODS: Can we get a sticky on this? This is the #1 poser mistake since v5 came out.

Before you exit the material room click on a node near the top of the screen...
It happens to me if focus is on a bottom node.
(She who has been making materials in P7 all last weekend)

Quote - I have a few bugs, when i try to ad lights to a large sign the program becomes unresponsive
Bug 2 The preview render will sometimes render just the background color
I get this too after playing for a few hours...but when I restart poser it's fine again.

the bucket down to 8-16 worked really well and it's still super fast.
For those that are still having problems...
Try restarting poser and your computer after a making a change then try to render. It helps clear the memory.
Also why does poser keep the textures loaded in memory if you've deleted them...after time this slows things down considerably

Thread: Poser 7 Crashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Hi Tirjasdyn, In regards to "Render settings: use displacement, raytrace and shadows on. It crashed on a 64 bucket and a 100 bucket. I have moved it to a 50 bucket and it was still rendering when I left this morning. Size is 2000 x 2041."
If you are rendering with Separate Process (General Preferences > Render tab) turned on, I am confident that adjusting render settings can help. Please not that when you render in a separate process, the render engine cannot automatically reduce bucket size to counter a low memory situation. Therefore please start with a lower bucket size (8-16) and see if that eliminates the issue. Regards, -Brian
No, I don't have a dual core system.
But I'm going to turn down to 8-16 to try that. Also I think I'm going to turn off the shadows option to see what's if that's an issue.
I still am going to check the textures....suddenly the don't show up in some parts..like jesse's face...but in a plop render it was fine.
I'll post what happens later tonight after I have time to play some more...
Plus I want to render a red jade dragon.

hrm...my image crashed again.
I'm thinking it's a texture issue with the texture filtering. I'll play with the image more tonight and comb through the textures.
Thread: Poser 7 content..... casino | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Or some of us have jobs and haven't had time yet.
:)
I did do a quick dragon render with a jade mat I made in poser 7. It's under Poser 7 dragon in the forum.
I want to finish a render I'm having issues with in Poser 7...looks like a texture problem...then maybe I'll get to the casino.
Thread: Poser 7: Animals | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was just counting animals...but yes their's koshini and ichiro, there is the muscle man and woman (you know the ones with no skin) sketitons, make human project, various vehicles from vanishing point etc...and this is not the SE content...I haven't installed that yet.
Thread: Poor Poser 7 Renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Keep in mind that the FireFly Renderer in Poser 5 and Poser 6 had the option to turn "texture filtering" on or off. If you turned it on, textures would look sharper, even in the distance.
ThrommArcadia is correct: in Poser 7, this is no longer a user-changeable option. The manual says that tetxure filtering is turned on by default, but I'm seeing blurry textures in my scenes, especially when I compare the same image I rendered in Poser 6.
Texture Filtering is under the imagemap node now and can be set for every texture...I plan to play a bit with it at home
