It's probably a bad idea to build a complex rubbish dump in Poser...
Try looking for Stock Photos perhaps?
For a cheat you could lay a photo of junk over rock props or even make a texture for some morphing terrain sets then decorate the surface with standard poser props and objects (munged up with dirty textures etc). Put complex stuff at the front - old fridges and bicycles etc - with more basic stuff behind on top of the textured terrains and rocks etc.
There's a nice set of garbage bags, broken bottles and suchlike called "Trash Stash" by Predatron - try Daz3d/Artzone and Content Paradise.
I think Trekkiegrrrl has a bunch of freebie junk props you should find useful too.
You'll have quite an overloaded by the end so be careful.

Over at DAZ there was a marionette set for the A3 "Toon" figure...the joints were cords etc. Don't know if it's still around though.

Wow, nice - I'll just go shoot myself...heheh.
Immortel has been on TV here (SBS - Australia's sort of foreign culture broadcaster) and the DVD is pretty easy to find. Aussies are such SF junkies that anything that pretty will get a fairly respectable release. Surprised it's less know in NZ though.
Bilal has another series of books after the Nikopol Trilogy - just as strange but just as brilliantly illustrated. That baroque SF design of his...
"Humanoids" is the name of the publisher I think - any specialty comics store should be able to get them in the translated editions.

Sideburns option maybe? He looks like he could make a good "Bovva Boy" ("B-O-V-V-A" = Bother = Trouble).

Immortel is based on the "Nikopol Trilogy" - mostly book 2: The Woman Trap. They make a bit more sense than the film, probably because you can take your time with them. But there's a lot of Eastern European political allegory going on, so it's foriegn territory for your average genre movie/FX fan.
I think Bilal was working on stuff for Heavy Metal/Metal Hurlant back when Ridley Scott was checking it out for Bladerunner, but Moebius would've been the greater influence on Bladerunner.
Bilal has a few other films out but it's hard to find subtitled versions - nothing with Immortel's level of FX though. Some interesting and surprising techniques - seemingly random use of real actors and CG ones. Definitely a unique piece.

Wow, sad to see you go. I have a lot of your sets already but there's still several waiting in my wishlist - like others my finances are exhausted at the moment so it's a shame I have to let them go.
Best of luck with your new work situation and your 5 year "holiday" from the poser scene, heheh.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us over the years.

Cool step-by-step. The UV-map-as-you-go thing sounds like the way Stonemason does his buildings, so you're in good company there.
Not sure about the pricing thing...only that there will be some unknown "perceived value" cut-off price point beyond which no-one will buy a particular model.
With something priced cheaply like this, I'd say go for the concept of a series of utilitarian SF vehicles at a similar price - that way people might get into the mindframe of collecting them on a regular basis?
And please, keep thinking of Chris Foss when doing these things! Love his stuff. Can't understand why isn't he remembered and celebrated and as inspirational these days as any fan of his would have expected...Surely he's one of the "greats"?
Is it because his designs have never really made it onto the big screen I wonder? Madness...
Cheers - best of luck.

Wow - thankyou for providing this service. I've sent through my email request - I'll keep an eye out during the week to see if it goes through okay (it being Sunday I don't expect immediate action).

Thread: How many artists are *really* currently online? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It also feeds into the question of how many active Poser users there actually are out there - sometimes it feels like we're a very small bunch for such a cool concept as the Poser proggie and associated 3rd Party products.

Your new guy looks interesting Phantom3D - are you using a more complex bone structure?
I'll go check the critique thread - but how do the shoulders hang in a normal "arms-by-his-side" pose? That seems to be where we see the worst of the ballooning shoulders effect in poser figures.

PS: could I suggest "Tom" as a name for the final figure? (as in PhanTOM3d)

Looking good - love the Foss flavour. Will you be attempting a similar Foss colour scheme?

Thanks **ahudson
**Looks really useful - I've been avoiding doing a runtime clean-up/re-install because of the laborious nature of poser product installers.
