Someone really, really, really needs to re-think this philosophy.
The World Wide Web would not exist without hyperlinks. And competition, within reason, is a good thing.
Community can not exist without sharing.
Thread: Hollywood's 100 Favorite Movie Quotes | Forum: Writers
I don't even have to look to know that some of my favorites, mostly from John Carpenter films, didn't make the cut. The Thing is a masterful remake (the first remake, the Carpenter one) and the scene where the alien's head drops off, sprouts legs and tries to run away will forever be a classic moment.

Does anyone know about the 9.99 plan? Why do you get PS and Camera Raw for half of what 1 program costs in the other plan? Makes one wonder what they are getting for their money.
I realize this is the PS forum, but there's noone in the PSP forum.... I need to update, and at this point I am looking at cloud PS vs PSP. PSP is inexpensive, but can I use all the PS stuff I have collected like custom shapes, tools, etc? Or am I better off just sticking with PS and doing the upgrade? I really don't care if I "own" the software, that means nothing to me. I just want to know what I am getting for my money...and really what the competition is. I need HDRI support and I am not even sure if PSP supports that (i have a bad install atm and their support is trying to help me fix so I can evaluate).

its part of something larger that has not yet completely surfaced.

So if the community manager is a writer, why is it that the Writer's Forum and writers' sections of contests get such short shrift around here? And the Writer's Gallery is a joke...if you don't post an image, you get people telling you that your gallery is broken and if you do post an image as a placeholder you get comments on the image and not the writing!
And with all due respect, having been around the block a few times, there is no damn difference: love is love. There need to be no artificial constructions or obstructions. Certainly there are depths of feeling and certain relationships have romantic or erotic components to them, but damn it: love is love. The love I have for my dearest friends is no different from the love that I have for closest family.
And having been on the other side of the TOS and expressed my opinions on it, at length, to several moderators here, I don't think I need to state what side of that discussion I come down on.
Thread: I See Why People Complain Here | Forum: Community Center
I'm really just posting here because I've run afoul of the TOS and I want to see what's currently in my signature.
Interesting discussion.

Thread: Render Settings Interactive Devices??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
The two sections are for the two different modes of the render engine: PhotoReal or Interactive. Unless you have changed it you are likely using PhotoReal as it is the default, so the Interactive doesn't much matter. However, what it means is: you are telling the render engine what devices to use in each mode. GPU is the best option, CPU and GPU is a secondary option allowing the renderer to use both the GPU and CPU to render (I don't recommend CPU and GPU, there are many mixed reports of its stability and efficacy; your mileage may vary). OptiX is a ray tracer enhancement and it is highly recommended.

Thread: Poser Dyn clothing now in Daz Studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I picked this up, it was neat to try some of the Poser dynamics I had laying around... they didn't all work so well, but the basic idea is there.
What I wonder is: why don't more people use the dynamics in Studio? The basic plugin is free and there's pages of free content available... Optix Freebies
Thread: Can someone point me to a good lighting tut for 4.9? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Wow...I made a list. I'm humbled.
I'll have a new example up soon, I'm about 1/4 of the way through writing it. You can see the image the example created in my gallery its called Cuddle 2 and there are two versions out there.
Thread: Computer upgrade for faster IRay rendering | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have run up against that 4GB limit with my card... using just a Genesis 3 figure and some weighty clothing (vendors using lots of big maps and normal maps and all that jazz). I need a Titan of some kind...
As to whether or not it is difficult...how comfortable are you opening up the PC and adding a card? If you can do that, you've got the hard part covered. You might want to go in there and see if you can fit two video cards....and have enough power to run them both. Some of those cards are big. I've got some older cards I would love to stick in my machine just to be able to use the main one for Iray, but there's no room.
And no, you would not need to re-install your OS.
