Quote - Reading the Smith Micro announcement, I think the Aquazone product's potential seems to be of key strategic interest, more so than Poser. EFrontier collected 6 million dollars in cash.
Smith Micro? You gotta be kidding. Are thier resources that much more vast than e-frontier? Aquazone doesn't even compare "Marine Aquarium". The original Aquazone was cool in how you had to feed the fish. They got sick. Died and once dead you never got them back. Unless you found the hidden file on the Drive and deleted it.. The animation wasn't all that realistic. But still great for when it came out. This "new" aquazone is just a cheap copy of Marine Aquarium"
SmithMicro is a hodge podge of little junk softwares and a wireless oriented company. So I guess soon Poser will become part of the "Junk". Unfortunately. The mere fact that Poser is bouncing around owners means it's not selling well at all. More than likely I would think. . Marketing of Poser is fairly weak in my opinion. Poser definately does not need to be associated with a company who doesn't really delve in 3D Animation. Want to market it? Hire some serious professional animators, buy a script and make a really good movie.
Thread: Dynamic Hair Simulation question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Jeesh. Because the controls in the hair room do not actually allow for control of the hair that much...at least as far as I can tell... I broke down the head into as many as 10 groups. Not counting the sides of the head. I did this because for example lets say I slit the head into just two groups. I have found it impossible to select only some of the hair to reposition. Select only the front hairs and the rear hairs become selected too. And even then not all the hairs that you surronded by your selection box become selected. Similarly I found it impossible to "deselect" hairs. Its always "almost all or none". I've seen Dr. Geeps web page all abouty the hair room. But A) it is hard to follow. B) it pretty much only explains the dials. It does not offer up a methodology to creating hair. So I am at a loss as to how to creat nice hair on a head. Even if I choose some simplistic hair like unstyled straight, long hair that is to drape over the shoulders and flow to the middle of the back.
One thing that drives ne insane. How the hell do I stop the sim? constantly clicking or holding the cancel key does nothing. Constantly clicking or holding the escape key also does nothing.

Well I figured out why my AO shadows were splotchy. My AO Num Samples was too low. Even at set to 3o. Shadows render pretty nicely when set to very high like 100. I am getting artifacts though near where my object meets the shadow, I'll try some of the "A" settings mentioned in this thread.

Quote - It doesn't have anything to do with image quality, it only has to do with some applications of printing the image. You can just change it in an image editor e.g. Photoshop.
So then what your saying is that setting really serves zippo purpose for those of us that use regular monitors.
When I render an image out of Poser. It arrives in Photoshop as 72ppi. When I change the ppi to 300 the image clearly becomes changed. The jaggies get broken down to a finer detail of jaggies. Seems like that if we were able to literally render to 300ppi that the image would be less jagged to start with and cleaner than converting to 300ppi after the fact.

Hmm updating to SR2 and now AO doesn't seem to work right. With either of the previously suggested settings I either get nothing or I get what looks like chunks of sand grain.

All great input. I could have sworn had this issue once before and posted a question. But I could not find it. Glad I asked again.

Do you remeber the show Ali Mcbeal. That is the baby., I did a search at Daz3d.com. Can't find any turtle that looks like the one pictured in this thread.

Thread: NUDITY | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well if your going to have a rule you need to be consistant and clearly you guys are not. There is a V3 gown thumbnail in the Dynamic clothing section that you would remove if you followed the same thought process as you did on ecko30's image. V3 is in a sheer gown where clearly she is nude underneath. There is nippledge via a shadow but you all would say that its not shadow. silly as that is.

Quote - The nudity policy doesn't bother me, as it is meant to protect younger visiters of this site.
However, I find that the standards for nudity labeling can be shifty sometimes.
I have two gallery postings tagged as 'contains nudity' by Renderosity last year.
One of them I can understand why, even though there is no nipples or genitals shown in the pic.
The other losts me -- the portrait image shows a lady from her shoulders up, but it's tagged as 'contains nudity' maybe because the viewer can imagine her as being naked?
Hmm . . . interesting.Click on the two tags above, and see (and judge) them yourselves.
(PS: I'm not complaining here -- just giving an example of interest.)
The flag on the "Why" image is stupid. I see bare shoulders. Thats it I'm partly conservative and partly liberal. But clearly this site is operated by prudish conservatives

Don't ever believe what you read on Wkipedia since anyone can edit anything another user wrote. The original Star wars used nothing but scale model, paintings for the backdrops, and actually painting directly onto the film itself. For example the engine clows and the light SaBER LIGHTS. The neon lighting in TRON was also painted on frame by frame if I recall.

There was no 3D in use in the movie Star Wars(original). Well possibly some of the wireframe animation but I think that that was 2D. That name of yours sounds familiar. Do you use Truespace and were you a frequent poster on the caligari Truespace email forum?
Thread: Did e-frontier get the IBL light probe design wrong? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
**kuroyume0161,**I've only recently read up a tiny bit on HDRI. But I have gathered that its a combimation of multiple exposures. I was going to "fake it" inside Poser. I guess I do sort of use IBL and HDRI interchangabley. I don't mean to though. I would have started last night. But I got stuck on a double at work. I'm just getting home now and I've got to be back at 2pm so I gotta go sleep in a second. I really hate that. Pretty much no "me" time. Hopefully I'll have a result to post in this thread eventually. Yes I too favor a 3D representation thar can be manipulated. Over all I like but I hate Poser. If you can figure that one out. And all these years of version after version I would have thought we'd see thin gs like light cones and fall off ranges and such. But no.

Its very simple. Sound in a vacuum in ther movies helps immerse the viewer into the action. Wether it's reaLISTIC OR NOT IS IRRELEVANT. Oops! Sorry for caps. I know that if I am in a plane and another one flys by I hear certains sounds in a certain way. When I am watching a sci-fi film, Even though I know there is no sound in the vacuum of space it helps get me into the action. Oh and not even to mention Fireballs.
