Yes, too bad the voucher is of limited time but hey, with that I was up to $82 credit with Daz so I bought the MilDragon. Have no idea what I will use it for but I am sure it will come in useful someday!

A low limit credit card. That is a VERY good suggestion. I dunno why I never thought of that. I actually have a low limit one I have never used. Doesn't cost me anything to keep so I just stuck it in a drawer for "an emergency". :) All I have to do is throw away the 'zero balance' statement and interminable ads they keep snail mailing me. There have been times I have hesitated using my main card online, partially because I let myself get scammed a couple times. No big damage but I had to shutdown my account, get a new card issued and so on.

Yes, PayPal is pretty nice. It adds an extra layer of protection between the consumer, internet, and merchant. Of course, if the PayPal site gets hacked there'll be hell to pay but I would imagine they have more stringent security than the average merchant site. A lot of sites don't use PayPal because their eCommerce solution can't pick up the credit verification from PayPal. A lot of carts just have hooks into Verisign, Cybercash or whatever. It really isn't a tough thing to add if your shopping cart isn't a black box though.

I read another article in another thread here where someone said he got it for about $79 total. That included the June sale price, the upgrade from mimic 1 and his platinum membership discount. I THINK I qualify for all three except I've owned Mimic 1 for over a month. But, the DAZ system didn't show my REAL price with discounts and all that. Just confusing as heck to me. Still, not a big deal, I can call DAZ Monday and find out what the scoop is I guess. I won't have time to play this weekend since I have to work all weekend.

Yeah, the DAZ sites sucks big time these days but they are aware of it. Ya only have so many warm bodies and always way too many projects. I'm just trying to avoid the DAZ site until sometime in the future. I had several items on my cart a week or so ago and got so frustrated with the dynamic page problem and auto logging out when you hit BACK and whatever that I just gave up and abandoned the items and went shopping elsewhere. Didnt' get exactly what I wanted but it was a more professional experience. DAZ customer service is excellent though and they catch a lot of heat with perfect aplomb. Quite admirable but a prospective online buyer shouldn't have to go through all the hoops just to buy something, verify their card isn't charged twice, etc, etc. Ok, enough dissing of a bad site, it'll hopefully improve in time! In the meantime, I find a lot of good stuff at RIGHT HERE at RENDEROSITY (note the dramatic capitals! can I suck up or what? lol) PoserPros, and other places. Steve

That is good to hear, Steve, but your site is a bit confusing on that issue. I clicked the upgrade from 1 link and see "Was: $64.95 Sale Price: $45.47" as well as "Upgrades from Mimic 1 will only be offered until June 30th, 2003." That implies to me that I'll have to pay 45.47 just to upgrade from 1 until the end of June and then I'll have to spend 64.95 to upgrade. Nowhere I see does it mention a free upgrade although that was specifically listed on the site for the last month or two. Of course, I could be just overlooking it. shrug I bought Mimic 1 a bit beyond 30 days ago, hmm, March 24 to be precise. Sales@Daz assured me I'd be able to upgrade for free to the new version, which convinced me to buy version 1 at that time rather than wait for 2 to come out. The upgrade notice from 2 to 2Pro is $111.97 ?? Wow! So, because there is a sale...let's see now, this is confusing. Mimic 2.0 "Was: $199.95 Sale Price: $139.97 Sale Ends 6/30/2003 at 23:59:59 " and the upgrade from 2 to 2Pro is: "Was: $159.95 Sale Price: $111.97 Sale Ends 6/30/2003 at 23:59:59 " That tells me that a new Mimic user could buy v2 for 139.97 right now and then upgrade immediately to v2Pro for an additional 111.97....pause.....and yet the v2Pro full price is listed at "Was: $199.95 Sale Price: $139.97 Sale Ends 6/30/2003 at 23:59:59 " Now I am all confused. Maybe more caffeine in my system? Less?? lol I knew I shouldn't have spent a grand on that new digital camera! That makes it tight now. hmm. I guess I'll have to see what users say about version 2 before I decide about upgrading from 1. Ok, I added the three to my cart to see what really was going on... Mimic 2 Pro (Upgrade from version 1 or 2) ps_ap043 $159.95 (On Sale: $111.97) [Remove] [Move to wishlist] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mimic 2 Pro ps_ap042 $199.95 (On Sale: $139.97) [Remove] [Move to wishlist] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mimic 2 (Mimic 1 Upgrade) ps_ap044 $64.95 (On Sale: $45.47) [Remove] So what's the scoop, Steve? I'm totally baffled. Steve (also!)

"...I can see some interesting things that could be done with with multiplication operator. For a start, it opens the way for Taylor series expansions to provide polynomial approximations of more interesting functions, such as trig functions." I love this kinda talk. Now, if only I could learn to consistently make clothes fit or even stay ON my Poser models I'd be ready for that stuff! :)

Well now, that is a very good point. I hadn't thought of that. I am still very much a newbie with Poser and I could have had something selected that I shouldn't have. hmmm, so I am assuming I just need my main figure "body" selected, yes? I hadn't really thought of it before. I did render it out.lol. it's great although a big file. I should run it through Sorenson Squeeze and post a QT on my site for enjoyment.:)

way beyond my competence to answer but I have encountered some helpful links that go into this sort of thing in detail. http://rbtwhiz.com/rbtwhiz_ERC.html http://www.nerd3d.com/Tutorial/SuperMorph.htm and http://www.geocities.com/ajaxsoyyo/

I removed the head bend and side-to-side areas of the mimic file but it still isn't juuuuust perfect so maybe Unclicking the Head checkbox in Mimic makes it too sterile and lifeless. I'll try adjusting it all in the animation palette next! :) Thought I had posted this already but I must not have hit the Post Reply button... Thanks for the responses! Steve thanks for the responses!

Greetings, Poser newbie here! First, what version of Poser would this work on? Secondly, when you say "poser mesh" are you referring to a mat file or what? Remember, I did say I was a newbie! Thirdly, what advantage does this give one? hey, you asked! Stev

lol... OK... it was the Awinita hair I believe. I made a new file, popped in the same standard p4 female character I had used before, left the default hair there (UGH!) and used the same Mimic pose file and it all worked fine.
