Each frame in the black square looks exactly aligned, as for the hole how did you ever get that? Each "frame" is exactly 0.1 Poser units wide, and I move the "film" at the appropriate rate, so that is moves 3.0 units per second, and record at 30 frames per second. >>> Right, its a transparency isnt it? I tried first with a transparency, but later decided that it would work better with just a hole in the wall, which is what you see here. The man's fingers are actually going through the wall. But the illusion is that the wall is much further back. >>> I'd just comp it in After Effects and be done with it At around $1500, my budget does not allow that.

Notice how in ddmwm's pics the rear wall changes color? That must be because the wall is moving but the lights are not moving along with it... Then if you have a hole in the wall, you can put whatever you want behind it... In my case, I left the wall still, but moved the man and the camera. The picture is really a verry long rectangle, and its texture has all the frames of the little movie in a row. It moves past the hole one frame at a time. A new idea (which I have not tried yet) would still have the long rectangle, but perhaps a frame around the picture you want, and super big magnets to make the rest of the rectangle collapse to a small enough size so that it can be hidden by the frame. Then you could really have a back wall, or other items in your scene behind the moving picture.

That was fun figuring out how to animate the square. See the later thread...Thread: Animated textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I recomend using Avi divx codec. loses very little resolution at 1/50th the size of uncompressed formats. DivX on Mac is a pain. There is only a beta version, with bugs. I got the OpenDivX codec from Maya, but it didn't allow playing the DivX AVIs made by Windows people. I like the Sorensen codec in Quicktime.

Thread: What do you think of an animation contest at Renderosity.com? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have wondered why there is so little animation seen here. A contest might perk up interest. In fact, when (ahem) another site anounced a May contest for digital artists, I was reading the rules eagerly until I came to this one: All entries must be in JPEG form...
Thread: 2 sided materials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find that when I render, I get the second side whether I want it or not. It's just not in the display.

I save the Poser animations with no compression. (They are rather big.) Then open them with Quicktime Player to edit them. This requires Quicktime Pro.

Concerning File/Import/Sound... what flummoxed me for a while on my Mac is: the sound must not be compressed.
Thread: max to poser | Forum: Poser Technical
Is it a 3DS file or a MAX file? Poser can import 3DS files. But whenever I ask about importing or converting MAX files for use in Poser, the only reply I get is: Buy "3DS Max". So: whoever created the MAX file should be persuaded to export it in another format.
