Wow, It's only been a day since I checked this! I don't mean that you shouldn't push a program, I just wish people would look at what the core is. As for realism...it depends on what your going for. I'm not into realism myself(heh, I'm writing an article on that very subject actually), not every artist is a realist(boy wouldn't that be boring). I use bryce as a render engine, for landscapes, indoor scenes and more. Bryce is fun, but I think people want too much out of a 3-400 dollar app. All those lists I've seen would easily push bryce into the 5000 dollar range if corel had a mind to.
Thread: Bryce 6 anouncement - not very pleasant for some PC users | Forum: Bryce
Hrm...I have a few things to say... 1. as a user of ME(my dell came with it last august) I would say that I have yet to see the blue screen of death, a lock up or otherwise...millenium figures do fine thank you. 2. If bryce pushes xp it might force me to upgrade..I have a copy of xp(Dell sent me one since I bought the puter so close to the release date) I have hesitated thus far because I can't get an answer from anywhere as to whether I'll have to reload my whole computer. I never did the upgrading of OS's at our house, my ex did and I feel uncomfortable doing it by my self. In a nut shell I might NOT upgrade to bryce 6 if the os restriction is in place and I haven't met a competant CS major by then. 3. As far as obsolete is concerned...not true...the average user of a computer only uses basic wordprocessing and internet functions...which only require 95 and 32mb...next step are gamers, who just want better and faster..not always needing it, then develpers/3ders...who actually need it. It is only obsolete if you can't use it.

In regard to unfinished works, I would say that there is some merit to the wip idea. Not everyone can post 10-20 images a day and some of us need help with stuff we are working on at the moment. Rendrosity encorages this, hence the wip gallery and even the product showcase forum.
Thread: Mike and Vic 1.0 or 2.0? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Stephanie can use vicky's clothes, but she is based off mike. I've used mike textures on her but the ones just for steph are good. She's kind of anorexic. I like vicky better. As for mike 2.0 he has a ton more morphs than 1.0 and looks a lot less dorkish...a cronic problem with poser males.
Thread: Mike and Vic 1.0 or 2.0? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Get 2.0 but make sure they are NOT the low poly version which is probably the cheaper version you saw on the website. Of course they may be running a sale, but I'd have to check. 2.0 has more morphs and worth it in my opinion.

I've noticed that some don't take even helpful critism well. I love it, how else am I gonna learn. I see newbies posting asking things like "how do I know I'm good enough to post", I tell them it doesn't matter how good you are just how willing you are to learn. Most that post say "good job" and that's about it...about as helpful as "this sucks". I don't post many comments, since usually I only see stuff posted in chat, then if I have something to say I say it there. I will say that every artist reserves the right to say that's enough, it's a final. You can only work on one thing for so long.

Thread: Poser 4 Texture Trouble in Bryce 3D- funny! But not what I want... | Forum: Bryce
You need to apply the texture again in the texture editor parametically. It looks like posette so you don't have to do the head separately, but eyes have to be done by themselves and you have to add a glass texture to the outer eye so you can see the eye textures. www.livingtreegrove.com has a nice tut on it.

I don't know if they every gave away the faerie before, but the gremlin they give away with almost every 3d package. The camel was, at first, given away to rosity members as a thank you. I bought the magazine cause it was cool and cheaper than bying the daz faery.

rayraz...why didn't you just link to the topic instead of post the whole damn thing here. It isn't even coherent when it all comes from you.

I will. I agree it would be nice...if i were an animator. But guess what I'm not. It seems that most of the posts show that others aren't either. So I defend Bryce as a still renderer. I bought it for those capabilities. Perhaps you should change your tune to: "Corel...make me an animation program based on bryce" INSTEAD, of change bryce. Its nice to know you can afford to morgage your house just for bryce. I bet 90% of the people her can't.
