The sky is stunning Clay - why am I not surprised?! ;-) As well as the turbulent wave height, I also very much like the colors you selected. They add an ethereal quality that privides quite a striking atmosphere. Very effective and really beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us. :-)

Agreed as to kingkyle's assessment. Now that you've wet our appetite, c'mon already & get busy! :-P But I do love the integrated background colors and the use of the spotlight Clay. Already, you have generated quite a nice atmosphere and the shadows are really nice as well. :-)

ROTFLOL!!! HOMER syndrome Clay?!!! :-D I thought I had tried to open the .br4 files from within the B5 appy, as I tried just about everything I could think of. Maybe I was suffering from HOMER syndrome as well?! I'll try it again and see how it goes. One would think that a later version of an appy would open an older version, eh? But I appreciate all of you explaining the difference between the different file extensions - it makes it much clearer to understand. :-) Man, do I ever hate being a newbie....yeesha! :-O Especially when I'm on my fourth Mac and do feel I know my way around my compy and at least other types of applications. Well, as I've said before, you have to start somewhere and if any of you feel the urge, feel free to laugh at the newbie! Good grief @ self! Thanks & I'm off to give it a try! :-)

Thanks to both of you for replying so quickly. The files I was referring to came from Renderosity's Bryce freestuff objects download area. Once downloaded, they have the file extension of ".br4". Clay had explained how to import .odp files, so I had tried that method to no avail. But I'll check out the link you provided ringbearer (thanks!) and also keep an eye out for Clay's reply to Eric's post. I really appreciate your replies, and thank you both! I'll post tomorrow as to how it's going after reading ringbearer's link.

Hi Eric and thanks for replying. The problem is that I'll need a Bryce 4 file, since Bryce 5 was my first purchase of the appy (I'm a newbie to rendering and Bryce). Is there a way for me to get ahold of a Bryce 4 file? Or would I have to legally own it? I realize this must sound stupid, but I feel that I need to ask. I seem to remember reading somewhere, while deciding which rendering appy I wanted to start with, that beginning with Bryce 5, Corel took over from Metacreations? Ack. This is so frustrating. But I did appreciate your taking the time to try and help. :-)

Hi Clay, and thanks for responding! Yes, I have been trying to import via the File menu (which is how I've always done it in the past). So if I go into the create palette, do I just click on an empty space & then "import", or just click on "import"?

eyes pop Wow. Douglas, I cannot thank you enough. The fact that you even included a screenshot to help this newbie stand a chance of understanding....let's just say that I am really stunned. Thank you again for taking the time. This was my very first post here, so I really didn't know what to expect & am quite surprised at your offer of such detailed help. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a certain material editor I know.... ;-)
