Thread: OT: Stan Winston | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A friend of mine worked at Dreamworks and had a chance to visit Stan Winston's studio. He said it was one of the most amazing places he's ever been. The guy did some truly impressive work.
Thread: poser running slow on ati | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just got the ATI 8.5 drivers (driver only install) and the ati tray from guru3d.com. This addressed an issue I was having with opengl being slow and/or sluggish interface issues. Try it out and maybe that might help.
Peace,
CGeorge
Thread: Ball wont fall on floor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Does the cloth room consider volume on a closed mesh (e.g. sphere or box)? If not, that would make simulating a water drop kinda tricky I would think. In such case, cloth density, stretch and fold resistance would be key variables when fine tuning the effect, wouldn't it?

I would break out the material into two basic points:
Color (to compliment the warm colors in the photo)
and Texture (the convincing metal aspect)

if you have a fast system, like, a really fast system (min core duo with 3 gb of memory), then it's actually not too bad.

Thread: How do you fix an opengl problem? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I feel your pain, I have an ati x1600. I've heard about nvidia cards having probs with Posers opengl implementation as well. However, I have yet to run into an opengl issue with cinema4d on my ati. Take that with a grain of salt.

Thread: Any problems with ATI drivers? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have an x1600 and I'm using the latest driver (XP). It's ok, however, if I have too many objects in my scene, the opengl slows WAY down and I have to switch from opengl preview to software preview.
I forget what ATI driver version it is that resolves the slowdown, but I heard that you also lose some features when going to the old drivers.
You might wanna search this forum for ATI OPENGL DRIVER, that might help.
