makes no difference; I THINK poser calls up a specific instance only from the version it comes with. regardless, I've run python and poser on the same system for years, with nary a problem.
Thread: Poser 7 crashing to Windows on render. Any ideas? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What version of windows or are you on a mac?
How much RAM?
Do you have an adequate amount of freespace on your system? you need to have freespace not only on the drive where poser is installed, but also on your system drive.
Have you changed your swap file settings lately? if you have your swap drive on your system drive, you can sometimes destroy your freespace in that way.

Little_Dragon, you rock. they have a decent Mal, a pretty darn good river, and a pretty good Kaylee.

Not upset, just joking. I just didn't want to be the one to mention what it looks like. check your PM.

I tried VERY hard not to say the "S" word, or even the "T" word; I actually have a shot at getting permission to call this what it is, and don't want to jinx it.
But, as you obviously know what it is, I'll just say it's pamplet/LBB compliant as to interior floorplan. which wasn't real easy.
It's close on exterior.

Just thought I would mention the obvious; Dynamic Clothing will almost always drape to fit whatever figure you put it on.
And there is a lot of dynamic clothing in freestuff.
Thread: Is Poser 7 Worth The Upgrade From Poser 6? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Is what I'm reading correct? Does Poser 7 have multi-threading and 64-bit optimization?
someone has to have a link to a curious labs page about this... please...
Thread: Freebies Police stuff( suit for M3 or james, police car etc), any sites? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are 5 SWAT uniforms listed when you do a search for SWAT in freestuff here on renderosity; the Vicky 3 one from Harkonnen is super nice.
Thread: The Oracle in 300 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It is, essentially, a comic book made into a movie; I doubt very seriously that the Spartans had leather speedo's as a uniform, and had a average bodyfat index of less than 1%.
The main thing that bothered me was their treatment of female spartans; they went to a little effort in showing that the spartan women had more liberties than the average, but didn't show that they received combat training.
One benefit was quickly evident, though; right after taking my 14 & 16 year olds to see it, they were fighting, literally, over my "The Peloponnesian War" books; if interest holds long, maybe I can hook them on "the 10,000".

Ahhh.
Nope. Thats not it. What i'm remembering is EXACTLY like the imagery used in the movie; the Schatz stuff is good, though, and in the same general theme.
Hey, I'm probably hallucinating, don't worry about it.

Uh.
Nope, not 'nuff said for me, sorry.
Actually, I keep thinking it might be the loading screen to poser 4 or poser 5; I saw both of them several thousand times, and it seems right, but I don't actually remember what they look like, and I'n not yet obsessed enough with the mystery to dust off my old version (when I installed Poser 6, Poser 4 Pro stopped working. I know it's not supposed to do that, but it did).
Thread: Intel or AMD? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It sort of depends on what operating system you are going to put on it.
Win2k (for those who hate DRM and like stability & minimal system resource use): Win2k does not support AMD 64-bit, there was a patch, but MS never released it. it will run with it as a 32-bit processor. if you get a multi-processor system, or a AMD multicore processor, Win2k supports them well but only 32-bit
WinXP (For those who like integrated DRM & Bloat) has a 64-bit version, and supports multicore, if you get XP professional. XP pro even supports multiple processors. So it doesn't really matter, AMD or Intel, as long as you get XP PRO.
VIsta (For those who..ah, forget it, no one with any sense would get Vista by choice).
My choice would be a Multi-processor AMD-64 system; I run Win2k, so I'm missing out on the 64-bit, but I don't have any 64 bit apps anyway. I dual boot Linux Debian with 64-bit support, so would be able to make use of multi-processors and 64-bit in linux.

Quote - If OpenGL is a key piece of software to make the program work, how come e-Frontier did not work to assure that this was updated and compatible?
They did; OpenGL is a Standard, like VGA is a standard. the software is OpenGL compliant, it is Microsoft that isn't.
A further note: Matrox is famous for making video cards that work great with OpenGL. since they sort of suck at gaming, not many people use them anymore.
Is Poser 7 seriously working just as well as it did pre-vista? thats pretty impressive.

Oh and please, give the DRM a break...HEY! Apple use it with iTunes, so bash the media producers for insisting on DRM rather than those that have to implement it so you will be able to run your MP3's on your iPod, or your HD DVD or Blu-Ray on your computer. Yet again, a lot spouted, but very little research done to gain a fair opinion.
Ok, have Vista without DRM...but then we will hear people complain that they can't play any multimedia content...which funnily enough, would probably be the same people who would be up in arms about copyright theft of 3D meshes, images etc!Well, I'm sorry DRM technology is only protecting the same copyright laws that we as artsits embrace to protect our intillectual property!
I will NOT give DRM a break; it's freaking Evil, with a capital E.
I misquote the infamous "Those who wish to control your access to knowledge, secretly dream themselves your master"
The problem is with Microsoft DRM; the iTunes DRM is sort of not very bad.
From TheRegister: "Vista's content protection requires that devices (hardware and software drivers) set so-called "tilt bits" if they detect anything unusual....With the introduction of tilt bits, all (of this) designed-in resilience is gone. Every little (normally unnoticeable) glitch is suddenly surfaced because it could be a sign of a hack attack. The effect that this will have on system reliability should require no further explanation"
From a cost analysis of Vista: "...Since the S/PDIF link to your amplifier/speakers is regarded as insecure for playing the SA content, Vista disables it..." "...component (YPbPr) video will be disabled by Vista's content protection, so the same applies to a high-end video setup..." "..If you rip your own CDs, WMP11 will take your rights away too. If the 'Copy protect music' option is turned on, well, I can't top their 1984 wording. "If the file is a song you ripped from a CD with the Copy protect music option turned on, you might be able to restore your usage rights by playing the file. You will be prompted to connect to a Microsoft Web page that explains how to restore your rights a limited number of times." (Note: this applies to Windows Media Player 11, which is a "critical update" for WindowsXP) "
Other quotes: "...Vista machines won't be able to play next-generation, high-definition DVDs in their full, high-resolution glory unless they're equipped with monitors that support a new DRM scheme called High-Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection, or HDCP...." "thanks to the removal of hardware accelerated 3D sound in Vista, Creative's popular DirectSound based EAX no longer works at all..."
Google it. use Vista, DRM, TPM & NSA as keywords. If you have any money invested in doing anything outside of just surfing the web, if you need to do anything that isn't based on the applications bundled with Vista, you are MOST LIKELY going to have problems.
