I like the new water plane, but it doesn't seem realistic. If that's not what you're going for, then you should use it, because it looks really nice.

I think the water breaking looks very very good, and if you just add some foam, it will look much more realistic. I really like how this was laid out. The whole image has the colors of a sunset.

On option: The 3ds max official website has a full working trial for 30 days. You can start the trial and export out the models. It's not illegal, because they're giving you the right to use their software for 30 days. Go for it!

I'd prefer seeing the first one greatly over the second one, but whatever. The first one looks really awesome, and her skin looks damn realistic! Very nice job. The second one doesn't seem very realistic, or anything that would even stand out in my mind.

Yeah, it hit here in the US a few weeks ago, even though the actual issue came out a long long time ago. There was a large discussion on this before, but what does it matter? ;)

Yes, you can. They just want to add lots of content to a CD, so they commonly put things like trials that are legally downloadable all over. It's not neccesarily a bad thing, but sometimes annoying when that's all it features.
