I've been in the process of switching to Gimp because of recent Adobe annoyances.
Gimpshop is a special version of Gimp with an interface closer to PhotosLop's.

Any vendor not producing for Poser too will lose my business because I do not use DS and have no intention of ever doing so.
Thread: can't rotate character properly | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Unless I'm missing something in your question, I believe the obvious answer is to click on the character's hip and do a Y-axis rotation with the dials.
Thread: Importing AVI files now a problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Solved the problem.
AVI compression codecs apparently were modified through a series of Win 7 Pro x 64 upgrades.
I finally just installed my PP 2014 discs and the issues are now gone.
Thread: Poser TOP VIEW PROBLEMS! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
CalmDay,
Are you possibly, like me, using TerraDome 2? If so, yeah, I really have to pull the top or aux cameras waaaaay back on that sometimes -- so I have the same issue.
Raven's suggestion of using a camera dot position can be a great time saver. I, too, don't use the dots often enough. But I have to check to see if they save with the scene file.
One thing I recently discovered about scaling the camera size is that it can mess-up focus distance in regards to shallow depth of field if you incorporate that into a render. I leave the cameras set at 100% and only change distance and focal length. I discovered that issue when I somehow accidentally set my main camera at 400% (and I have no idea how I managed to do that, but it happened) and tried to set focus for a shallow DOF render.
PS: I love Terradome 2, and I miss RuntimeDNA.

Thread: Poser Physics 2012 won't install. Ideas anyone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm afraid that planting an empty "Poser.exe" file in the Poser Pro 2012 folder failed to work -- but my thanks to everyone for suggesting it.
Received the same suggestion over in Smith-Micro's own Poser Forum.
I believe this is a permissions issue and/or something in a Win 7 update is wreaking havoc here.
Don't know how to get around it.

Hmmm. Yes, I've run into permissions issues before.
But I tried installing as an administrator. Wouldn't that get around it?

Thanks, gang.
I'll try the SM forum first. Didn't even know that existed. Did it come about after RuntimeDNA got absorbed?
Interesting idea to create a Poser.exe file. Would I just create an empty file labeled that and place it in the same folder?
BTW, I said PP 16bit when I meant 64 bit. Silly me.

I, too, am having issues with Smith-Micro's customer service at this point--but the matter is not as serious as yours and regards a Poser plug in they sell that refuses to install.
Still, I am not happy with them of late. Multiple messages go ignored now.
Not having the Poser team in house anymore isn't helping.

They why did DAZ buy Eovia? I believe to keep anyone else from acquiring those programs. Grrrrrrrr.

Paypal seems to be running a bit behind in confirming payments right now -- probably because of the holiday buying season.
I find that the payment gets confirmed within a half a day and you can download afterward. It's usually okay once you've received the confirmation from Paypal in your email box.
