Thanks, that really beats the cloud formations I have been using and will mix well with both for me.

Let's hope, but if not, you should let e-On know just in case it is becoming a problem for more than a few of us.

What the Hell is wrong with a Guy wearing a skirt (Kilt) anyway?? Besides, any one of use who is brave enough to wear the plads in the middle of winter and freeze any manhood we have left off deserves to wear the colors.
Now you having me talking about the ancestors, lets liven up the day, and listen to this. Grandfathers mother was an Arthur (MacArthur) and her husband was an Englishman, three times removed 30th grandson of King Edward I. I kid you not, and having both those genetic lines running about in my blood is like pouring water on fire!!!
They don't call a Scotsman BraveHeart for nothing! Have a good one.

Yes, I know what you are talking about. I cannot paint on an eco, just populate an eco because I have Esprit, but I have had the same trouble from time to time. I do not know what causes it. I usually clear, save, and then repopulate, highlight the terrain in the world browser, move the eco and it has usually gone away.
I assume in my case it has something to do with resources and Vue not writing to or reading the temp files correctly.

Do not be so hard on yourself, Bobby is wise in his years. You can complain about your mental condition when you are over 60, autistic, dyslectic, colorblind, deaf, one armed, own a cat named DOG, and your grandfathers name was William Wallace Keen and you live in the German section of town. (NO emails my wife is German and Scots!)
Nice tut even if you do wear a Kilt man?!?

Here is an interesting bit of information about CopyPast versus Duplicate from the Vue Manual.
In the Options and Preferences Dialog under the attribute named Object Options is the following: (my paraphrase)
Offset duplicate objects: when you duplicate objects, the copy of the objects are offset by one nudge unit in each direction of the X,Y,Z axis. You can disable this feature by unchecking the box. As a result, duplicated objects will be in the exact location of the original object for precise alignment.
ATC, If you ever fall asleep at the keyboard, do you have any idea what is going to happen?!?
Thread: Thanks for all the not art.. | Forum: Vue
In all of my years as an artist I have been called many things, good and bad, but this I like. Now when asked what kind of art I do, I can proudly hold my head up and say, "I'm a Not Artist!"
Love it Chipp!

I haven’t used the flat wall before, but have populated many 45 to 60 degree slops of mountains or hills by tilting the terrain or object. Unfortunately, getting the item back to its original position, in exactly the same place, does make for a challenge. You will want to write down the Location Coordinates of X,Y,Z, before you start.
I find it easier to make a copy of the object, move it away, populate it and then turn the base material transparent. Then I can select the original material and the secondary material and align them to the correct X,Y,Z, coordinates to match it all up. This will also work for multiple objects that must all be aligned to the first.
You could also create a flat cube or other shaped object make it transparent, populate it and then align it with the Wall, much easier all around.
Another method is to create the Ivy separate and then align it to the wall. I take one of the basic dead trees and turn it into a very long thin branching vine and then I can populate that item with leaves and add it to a wall.
I am on my other computer now, as the other is rendering so cannot give you an example.
Thread: Display Problem | Forum: Vue
Sorry I forgot the ATI Crossfire driver that is causing the problem, but for NVidia it is nvlddmkm.sys. These drivers handle display and OpenGL and can cause troubles for any graphic intense software, especially 3D apps and Games. One of the techs was telling me it was an incompatibility issue between the mobo and bus voltages. Noway, as you say it is Vista, because the same issue plagued XP for a long time before being resolved. AND, it does not make any difference what drivers you use from 98 up, but 97 drivers seem to perform better. Of course they are for XP and will cause troubles with Vista.
There is little that can be done the drivers have to be rewritten. If it is particularly bad you will get constant Errors in the Events Viewer, which eventually trips up the OS. NVidia knows about it but is more interested in cleaning up the 8600 to 8800 drivers first and getting DX10 to work in competition with ATI.
Someone is always kicking you in the butt.

I also find that working with a sphere is much more difficult than working with a multi-branched object.
My original idea was to add parasitic plants to other plants, just as orchids attach themselves to trees. The other idea I wanted to explore was one where moss and other materials populate dead trees or trunks that were still standing rather than using displacement materials.
Using multiple transparent objects and creating a difference ecosystem for each is not a problem, but as mentioned before it is very time consuming and once your objects are aligned it is difficult to make changes without knocking something askew.
The image I have included is one example, a little over stated, but you get the idea. This idea is from a swamp environment or a rain forest where parasitic plants take root on trees. If you look close you can see many of the mushrooms are hanging out in the air, one of the problems you encounter with this technique.
Careful GP you can driver yourself crazy with all of this math stuff!!! I know I have, especially hard on me since I flunked Algebra and Geometry.

A long shot but you might try the following
If not already, try changing the Properties of the Vue.exe file as visual themes, mouse over’s etc. can play havoc with Vue while in Vista. Try checking;
Disable Visual themes
Disable Desktop composition
If neither of those work then try checking the setting Run this program in Windows XP Compatibility mode.
Nvidia and ATI are having trouble with the one of the basic display drivers. That problem was solved in XP but not in Vista as yet.

So, Tablesaw, you have the floor, now what would you change to make Rend a better place?

OH! I like Boris to, but Frank is still may all time favorite. I did not know until a couple of years ago that the dark haired babe he painted in all of his works was his wife! She is just as good looking in real life!
Depression does not make you a bully, it tears at the fabric of your mind, enslaves your consciousness in a pit of fear and cloaks you in an overwhelming state of senselessness. A darkness that not even the most fearless can tolerate.
Tablesaw, this is not an illness to joke about, being dehumanized by such an illness can only be understood by those who suffer from this devastating illness.
