Okay, LuxXeon, what you describe is the process I don't know/understand yet so thanks for the info. I was going to do the Dynotopo option described in the video below. Or should I use the Remesh option? Found another interesting link here.

Okay, I am going to start a project here and post as I go along and show you my progress. Eventually I will post a story of the animation I want to do and if anyone wants to participate that would be great.. Like I said I am a Carrara user but I seem to have lost the human models I created in Carrara so I created a base mesh in blender that I want to sculpt . Don't know how to do this yet so if anyone knows a good tutorial online showing the general process of sculpting please post a link. Here is the image of the base mesh

Hey all, I recently finished my first complete animation done completely in Carrara, it took a long time to complete but was fun to do. For one person it is a lot of work as I made all the sets ,did the sound , editing etc. In the past I have tried to have get a group of Carrara users together to create a movie as a group, we got off to a good start but it fizzled out in the end. Anyways here is my little movie created in carrara and I am still thinking of ways to get another Carrara Community Movie Project going.
PoisonIvy, animajikgraphics Both of you have done nice jobs on your animations.

Thread: Simple Features That Would Add Value To Carrara Without Exorbitant Costs... | Forum: Carrara
MaxxxModelz,
I model almost exclusively in Carrara and although I agree with some of what you say about selection tools in carrara but by no means should Daz ditch the Vertex Modeler.
Carrara does have a Symmetry tool , it is in the VM rooms Property Panel,Model Tab and you can choose whatever axis you want to use symmetry in. Not all of the tools can be used with the symmetry tool on but it is very usefull.
I don't know what the Inset tool does but by your description wouldn't using "Extract Along" work here, it is in the Model Menu tab or icon at the top of the VM room gui. You could also use the "Extract Around" tool too.
Cheers,
Mike
Quote - A polygon "Inset" command. I mean, it has a dynamic extrusion tool, which is far more complex (although I found it awkward to control), but no simple inset tool? Strange. Insetting is probably one of the most useful tools in polygon modeling. It's basically a bevel without extrusion.
A modeling symmetry tool. This is one I couldn't believe wasn't in there, but I searched the docs and couldn't find it, so I'm assuming it isn't. Modeling with symmetry is a must for any serious modeling work, and is a staple in most modeling apps I've used. Very handy and productive feature.
There's quite a few more simple things, but I'll leave it up to the users. Doesn't seem like modeling in Carrara is a priority, and I see why actually. Perhaps, if there's no interest to improve it, then simply do away with the modeling module altogether, and free up the resources for the other main features you guys want most?
Thread: PoserPro 2012 for sale , maybe. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Moriador,
I will have to keep it by the looks of things, it is just I don't use Poser that much . I do all of my rendering in Carrara right now and I use Poser9 as a 2d figure image creator for the Architecural renderings I do for work. So I have a bunch 2d clip map images of people that I create in poser from various angles that I past into my architectural renderings. I find this much easier to manage than importing the 3d figures into Carrara.
I will look more into PoserPro 2012 and if anything changes with regards to this I will let you know.
Thanks.
