There could be other stuff there (like "conditions of use" file, or bonus textures), so I look first.

I agree that 100 inches is the correct amount. One measuring ruler in freestuff, however, claim it to be 8 feet. That's 96 inches. Not a big difference, though.

Its a character so it uses the same obj mesh regardless of how many segemnts you load Does that also mean Poser slows down more and more as you add segments?

Someone said 3DCafe. A great site, but you mostly do not get OBJs there. Rather you get 3DS files. But then you can import 3DS to Poser and export OBJ if you need an OBJ. Similar remarks apply to other sites. Get anything in a format that Poser will import.
