"Folding Chair with writing table" looks like what i want. Maybe I can even take the writing table from this and stick it on one of the myriad wooden chairs available. "Zig3D" seems to have office desks and computer desks but not student school desks. They say Windows only, but since their models are just PP2 and RSR, they should easily be used on Macs by converting with Maconverter. I tried converting WRLs, using this method: Import into Strata 3D, then export as 3DS. It worked for one of the three I tried. Oh, well.

Thanks for the great links. Some I knew about, but not others! >> You can try converting PRJ, COB or other using a >> converting program like Crossroads, 3DWin, or 3D Explorer. I'd love to. But aren't these all Windows (non Mac) programs? >> Have you checked through the Free Stuff here at >> Renderosity? Yes, I did that before asking. "Search" found a Gothic book, but no notebook and no briefcase (and no student desk).

Thanks for the pointer to 3D Cafe. I had browsed a bit there before, but never tried their useful "search" feature. Lots of books there, in 3DS (which I know how to get into Poser 4 on my Mac) and WRL (which I haven't done, but should be able to, I'll try tonight). No notebook found by "search". Three briefcases found, one in 3DS (OK); but the others in PRJ and COB formats, and I do not know how to get them into Poser 4 on my Mac. Any suggestions appreciated.

I tried the Mac version on my home Mac last night. There, too, it froze on startup. But increasing the memory did not fix it. Looks like a conflict with QuicKeys. I use QK so much that I think I will revert to the previous version of UVMapper for the moment.

OBJ files require no resource fork. Try the utility "Maconverter" (see link). It will set the filetype for Poser files to whatever Poser for Mac expects... Another possibility: when you transfer OBJ files (or any other text files) from PC to Mac, be sure your method of transfer changes the line-endings. (With extension .obj it may not know automatically that it is a text file.)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
