Thread: How to delete a frame in the middle of an animation? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have you tried the retime option. It simply squeezes or expands the keyframing so the entire animation either plays faster or slower. If you move your keyframes closer you will get your entire animation in 64 frames but it will play faster ,If you change frame rate from 30 to 20 it will play in the same time. Fewer frames may give you jerkier movements. Also: delete keyframe deletes the keyframe from the animation. However when you run the animation that frame is interpolated and may well seem identicle.
Thread: Animation - Partented Prop to Non Parented? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes is possible but there is a catch. When you record keyframes with the prop parented the xyz translations and rotations are recorded for the parent and the prop. After recording the keyframes from 0-120 and with frame 120 showing change the props parent from whatever to universe. Then record keyframes after 120 to end of animation. If you need to alter keyframes before 120 realize that the prop is NO LONGER PARENTED. best of luck.
Thread: Too tanned in the face room... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
if you fiddle with the textures in the face room , tabbed with the photo option I get a message about the mismatch when selecting apply to figure. One option adjusts the colors to a closer match with the body but preserves the beard shading. This is Poser 5 service release 4.
Thread: How to delete a frame in the middle of an animation? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, ynsaen is correct , you cannot delete frames in the middle of an animation. You need to delete any keyframes and move the frames from the break to the end of the animation. e.g you want to remove frames 20-29 in a 50 frame animation.. select frames 20-29 and press delete keyframe. then select frames 30-50 and move them to frames 20-40. you now have a 40 frame animation. If you want to get rid of one frame - delete it as a keyframe if some action at that point is incorrect or forget it. One frame at anything over 24 frames per second is not visible. if you want to keep the deleted frames for later use do this. example. set animation to frames 0 - 100 set the frame range to 0 - 50 move the frames to be deleted to say 80-100 they will not appear in the render because they are out of range. If you do this be aware the spline interpolation will take these frames into account. either use the straight line interpolation from the end of your animation or put in a break. hope this helps, and is understandable. regards
Thread: promo images | Forum: The MarketPlace Wishing Well
Thanks Clint,
I thought I had read that somewhere but could not find the referance.
There are some products that look really good in the promo shots but I have simply assumed that the creator has managed his layout and lighting really well.
The person marketing the product should realize that if the Poser user does not get a similar result to the promos he/she is likely to have a dissatisfied customer and possibly a request for refund.
regards.

Thread: Trouble with dynamic clothing prop texture in P5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
try positioning a camera on the 'back' side of the prop. This may give you some ideas about reversed normals or holes in the geometry.
The export to .obj and reimport with 'fix normals' sounds like an easy way to check it. I assume this is a single layer mesh. If it is a 'solid' mesh you might have distortion problems between the two sides of the mesh.

I would be curious about this. I thought most of the marketplace brokers required straight poser renders without retouching for promo shots.
Thread: The many lights down the road. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For a few street lights you could position a spotlight at each lapm and set its properties to throw a cone of light down to the street. Use a little atmosphere (poser5) to show a light fog effect. Otherwise you might get a satisfactory effect by using a cone primitive prop, scale it to be the lamps light cone, and tinker with transparency and ambiant properties.
Thread: Bizarre Texturing Problem?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At this point if it is a recent purchase I would put the problem to DAZ sales support. They would know if there is an update patch for the product. There are I believe a number of free textures for that item. You could try one of them to see if its your textures that are bad.
Thread: poser clothing questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, conforming clothing is a pain. It often does not fit quite right particularly in extreme poses. Prop clothing is just that, a prop. Load it to the scene, position it and parent it to the figures body part as appropriate (hip, chest, foot) If it is a 'smart prop' it should load in the right place.
Thread: How to get a figure to bend at the knee and elbow? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It makes a big difference if you have IK on for either feet or hands. With IK on for the legs, the feet will not move and so bending the leg does not give the right result. You can bend the legs by moving the hip. arms you use a combination of collar, shoulder and forearm movements, but not quite what you expect, depending on the model. Zero the figure pose using the joint editor and try a few trial moves of the shoulder, then forearm. Turn ik off for the legs if the feet are off the ground, it makes it easier to position using the thigh and shin dials. What figure are you using ?

Is it possible you have a 'preview' material group and you are applying the texture to it rather than the actual material group that renders. ?
Thread: Military marching poses! | Forum: The MarketPlace Wishing Well
If you have bvh files etc that are close you can simply delete the data from the boody parts you do not want. simply open the keyframe editor panel, select the data recorded for the body parts you do not want to move and hit delete.
Thread: The price of custom models | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For a custom modelling job you need to work out your actual costs, then add a profit margin. You need to cover, your time, computer wear and tear, electricity, building costs etc. For a hobbiest making a little extra cash I would consider things like, did I enjoy doing it, would I have done something similar anyway, is it for a friend, is he using it commercially etc. Charging $10 per hour would be very low end, $150 per hour more top end. If you can make a few small changes and sell it in the marketplace charge him for your time and the marketplace is mostly profit.
