Doesn't seem to be available yet. If you go to www.courseptr.com and search on 'Poser', it'll tell you that the release date is April 15. Amazon (UK) doesn't know about it yet.

On the basis of this render... for me, Jessi. But I agree with Francemi, she really does look cross about something!

Thread: Artists alike, I need your input...Please! | Forum: Community Center
Nothing much to add really to what's been said before - all of which I agree with. I suppose though that the original commenter might not have realised this was a child's work - how many of us check the artist's bio before commenting? Actually, if done with MS Paint I think the image shows quite amazing skill and perseverance - she mustn't give up!
Dinhi, it's probably best (though I'm sure you have already) to warn your daughter that just as in the real world most people here are perfectly pleasant and some can be really very nice - but that some aren't, and a few can be downright nasty. She may have encountered one of them, or as said earlier, someone who was having a really bad day. We all get those and it's all too easy to say something on the spur of the moment that we regret later.

Thread: New Gallery PLEASE (and the postwork issue again) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm sure you're right about R'osity's income keeping the galleries set up the way they are. Not that I can necessarily blame them for that :-)

Many thanks. I have bought it but haven't used it yet - too busy playing with V5I and waiting for Poser 6! The fix will be useful come the weekend though :-)

Poppi, I agree, but that isn't how I would see it working. You would of course have to be able to filter what apps were used, so if you wanted to see images made with LW (at least somewhere in the process) then you would have to be able to do that. If you wanted to see images made in Poser with no postwork, then you ask for those where the only app used is Poser, not Photoshop, and/or Vue, or whatever, as well.

What I'm getting from all this is that there is very little point in having galleries devoted to the applications used to produce the images. Why have a Poser gallery at all? Or a C4D or Vue, or... well, you get the point. Why not have just one gallery with the various genres as at present, plus the ability to list which applications were used to produce the image? That way there wouldn't be a need for a separate 'non-postwork' gallery because it would be clear from the list of apps used.

Mine has also arrived (North East of England) but I was at work, so I'll have to pick it up from the Royal Mail tomorrow.

Thread: Poser books that might be nice to see a review of on the front page.... | Forum: Community Center
I second the idea about a section for short book reviews. (That's short reviews of books, not reviews of short books BTW!) I'd be happy to contribute if there was such a section. One that people who paint their own clothes in post might like to look at is 'Dynamic wrinkles and drapery' which contains everything you need to know about how cloth folds and wrinkles in almost any kind of pose. (Author: Burne Hogarth; Publisher: Watson-Guptill, NY; ISBN 0-8230-1587-4.)

Thanks for the reply. I've tried quite a lot of those effects, but still don't get quite the result I'm after. I'm sure it's down to the material in great part, the best I can find for this is 'burned rock and lava' in the landscapes collection, but it still tends to give a softer result than I'd like. Guess I'll have to experiment with the function editor and see what I can get :-)

Thread: Help with daz pedestal | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You need to attach the correct texture to the pedestal. There are two installed with this object, and you find them in runtime:textures:DAZ:CharacterProps, called pedistal1.jpg and pedistal2.jpg. I think it's pedistal2.jpg you want but you can try the other if it doesn't work. In the material room, connect this texture to the Default material of the pedestal and it should be okay.
This is assuming you're using the square pedestal - there's also the long pedestal, I think pedistal1.jpg is for that one.

That's a great explanation of how to make shadow catching work, many thanks. And yes, a very nice way to present it, too :-)
