lol! um... i have some tips for post render fire tweaking and painting, using photoshop and painter on my gallery. fire is a lot like hair, really. smear the flames up and then crank the brightness. http://people.delphi.com/sphynx/gallery/index.htm go to the illustration page... look for some fire images like 'watch your step, cat' and 'dragon attack.' the latter has some radial glow too, similar to the sun in 'sunrise warrior.'

whoa! be careful with that. the joint editor is for body parts, and if you mess with their centers, your rotation will get screwy. it seems, in p4, that you can select the body and numerically adjust the center (from 0/0/0), but there's no visual clue as to where the body center is. maybe we should put this in the bug report. my workaround is to rotate the resized figure by its hip, not its whole body.

heya; grey, why can't we just reset the resolution of the texture? i was messing with my zebra texture at different resolutions up to 300 dpi in photoshop, and they all seemed to fit okay. as long as you don't change the proportions, right?

hey! have you forgotton everyone's favorite? nendo! you can also download a nendo demo (though you can only save in native nendo format). www.nichimen.com (isnt it?) blender is good, but it doesn't export anything but dxf, and that only if you buy the key, as grey mentioned. ray dream is good. ray dream is good for modelling and is a pretty hefty package in its own right, as renderer and such. with the new poser and obj patch, it does poser scenes and objects and morph targets. doesnt do much for materials and uvmapping, but you can edit the groups to add materials in a text editor, and use uvmapper to make nice maps. actually, i do believe metacreations has a ray dream demo on their site as well. dunno bout truespace4, but that is also a high-performance program. remember: try before you buy!
