Nope...still missing ebots here. I know of at least one of my favorites that posted just a couple of hours ago, and I didn't get an ebot.
Thread: No Favorites ebots | Forum: Community Center
Still only getting some ebots here and there...and it seems to be completely random as to which artists I receive notification ebots. One day, I get ebots for certain artists and not others...then the next day, it's just the opposite. There seems to be no pattern to the screw-ups.
Is there any update as to when this will be fixed?

Yes, but in the old version...as it was already pointed out...online status was in a centralized, out of th way area so that it took some effort to sort through it to find out if someone was online. Now, every time they see one of your posts in the forum, one of your images, or a comment you've left for someone (and there's probably more instances thanks to this wonderful new software), people know for sure that you're there. Once again, it's a matter of giving people the option to hide themselves online. People want options, not mandatory settings.

Ok...now I'm getting SOME favorite artist ebots, but definitely not all. Whatever you did to get some a few of them working, go back and do it with all of them.

I have never seen a forum that didn't give it's users the option to be "invisible." If Renderosity is trying to be unique, then leaving that feature off the list is one sure way to do it...although not a very good idea.

My notifications have been turned on since the switchover. The following are some artists that I know have uploaded and I didn't get any messages:

And again, there's still no reason given as to WHY the images have to be resized at all. Perhaps if someone could explain that part, then things might go a lot smoother. But the attitude of "it has to be resized because we said so" doesn't help the situation. It's obviously not a technical reason, because the CSS can be altered to display the image at its actual size. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to find out the reasoning behind the attitude.

I understand this issue is still being reviewed, but...
Are you people insane? There's a fix that does away with the whole resizing thing via the CSS and doesn't break anything. Just code into the default style sheet and be done with it. I don't understand the fascination with resizing the images...I have yet to see anyone from Rendo explain WHY the images must be resized at all.
I'm sorry, but this whole thing is just ridiculous. You don't tell anyone that your new software will butcher people's images and then you seem to get mad that anyone dare question the decision to resize images. Now, after one of the community's members provides a simple fix, you're going to go out of your way to hard code a script to resize the images because you believe that...come hell or high water...they absolutely have to be resized. (And when I say "you", I'm referring to the collective "you" at Renderosity.) Exactly what is this bizarre obsession with resizing images to 700 pixels wide?

I'm getting ebots for gallery comments, forum responses and wishlist items on sale, but not for favorite artists. And since my email program is set to display only text, the HTML in the ebots is getting garbled and the links don't take me where they should. This never happened with ebots from the old gallery...the links displayed fine in plain text format.
Thread: Stacey... Hate to tell you this | Forum: Community Center
I finally started getting ebots again. Unfortunately, the link in the email that was supposed to take me to my image so I could see the comment just takes me to the front page of the galleries. I have HTML turned off in my email so I just get it in plain text and the link looks like it has some funky formatting.

If you would just put the important information under the thumbnails (i.e. view count, comment count, image dimensions, file size)...exactly like it was in the old gallery...there would be zero need for the popups. I don't understand why there's so much resistance on these issues...giving people the option to turn off/on which information they want displayed with the thumbnails would solve a lot of problems.

If you use the default style sheet, the little pop-up window is fine and completely legible. However, using a custom style sheet turns it into light text on a light background, making it completely useless.
Thread: Image Resizing is really NOT a good idea | Forum: Community Center
Why resize the images at all? Telling the browser to resize an image with html accomplishes nothing because the file size is still the same. I'm on dial-up and a half meg image at 1024x768 takes just as long to load as a half meg image at 640x480. Resizing via html doesn't increase the speed...it just butchers the image and makes it look horrible. Now, if the software actually resized and resampled the image and reduced the file size, that might be a different story and useful to some. But, all that's happening is people are getting irritated looking at bad images and being forced to click once again just to see a piece the way the creator intended for it to be displayed.
HTML resizing = bad idea
If you insist in keeping this "feature", I suggest giving people the option to turn it off.
Thread: New Galleries are here!!! | Forum: Community Center
Yeah, it looks like the views and comment counts show up if you hover over the thumbnails now. It's not as good as it was, but at least a page of thumbnails in my gallery isn't as useless. Thanks to whoever coded that.
Now, just stop the software from resizing the images and the new galleries might achieve adequate status.
