Nope, Troi never wore red. She wore a blue "space cheerleader" outfit for the first few episodes of Next Generation (which was an t-shirt style top, short skirt, and boots.) After a few episodes, she changed into the onepiece jumpsuit. Since she is the ship's counselor and technically outside of the command chain, she didn't have to wear a standard uniform. During the 2-part episode, "Chain of Command", Captain Jellico (Ronny Cox) had her wear the standard uniform, but she was still in blue. After that episode, she changed back into the jumpsuit. In the 7th season, she finally wore the regular uniform... and looked a lot better. :) In Star Trek: Generations, she wore the Next Generation-style uniform, not the new Deep Space Nine/ Voyager version. In First Contact, Insurrection, the "Star Trek: Voyager" episodes, and Nemesis, she wore the standard black-with-gray shoulders uniform. And in Nemesis, she was transferred to another ship, but I don't know if it was stated that she would be the first officer. In that case, though, she would probably change into a red uniform... or in this case, a uniform with red trim. (This doesn't count her civilian, casual, or "blend in with local alien population" clothing.) During the 2-part episode, "Redemption", Data wore red when he was given temporary command of another ship. When Picard was believed to be dead during the 2-part episode, "Gambit", Data was promoted to first officer. But, he continued to wear the gold uniform... even though all first officers normally wear red. For the first season of Next Generation, Worf wore a red uniform, but changed to gold after becoming head of security after Tasha Yar was killed in "Skin of Evil". He is the only Starfleet officer (that we know of) to wear a sash over his uniform. Any other questions? :-)
Thread: Poser Bug ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
{Now I'm just guessing, but what I think is happening to me is that my finger holds the mouse button for just a tad too long on the dialogue "close", and Poser itself (not the dialogue) also gets a mouse-button message AFTER the dialogue has actually closed - and interprets it as a command } This could be the culprit- Poser doesn't use the standard Windows dialog boxes and has major issues with "focus". It's very possible that your click is going through the dialog box and clicking on the Poser "thing" beneath it.
Thread: 3-d animation taken to a new level - Garfield anyone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Garfield was done in Poser? So that's why this post is in the Poser Forum. Does this place even have a "Off Topic Forum" for talking about movies?
Thread: Poser Bug ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This could happen if you are too quick with the keyboard. For example, if you click on the "Figure" pull-down box and hit "c" to select a figure starting with the letter "c". Poser may not show the pull-down list fast enough and will think your "c" means "switch to Color" (paint bucket). Hit "t" or click on another tool... or don't click on the figure: use the pull-down boxes instead. If your figure's head does turn green, go to the material room, select the body, note the Object Color, then go to the head (which should now be green) and change it to be the same as the body color.

First image posted 1:51. Last image posted 8:55. Good god, man! SEVEN hours for Poser 5 to start?!? Haven't you installed the latest service packs?!? And standing over the computer will not make Poser start any faster... just like watching a pot of water won't make it boil any faster. Or are you running Windows 98?
Thread: Strange gallery comment | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
{I took care of the Thanks for the heads up.} Can we keep guessing? I THINK THAT THIS guy WANTED YOU TO SEND HIM a copy of the software. If someone wants to upgrade (and the legally have an older copy), wouldn't it make more sense to go to the company's website and see that kind of deals they offer? And why is he asked if anyone can help... on an image? Wouldn't a posting in the forum be read by more people?
Thread: need help creating something like this: | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Alpha channels, png to rsr, 91 pixels... huh?? Just do it the easy way: 1) Make a square image in your favorite image editor (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, whatever.) 2) Decorate it however you want: requirement text, your face, whatever. 3) Save as jpg. 4) Open Poser (4, Pro Pack, heck, even 3). 5) Add a small object to scene (a figure if you are in the figure or pose library, a prop if you are in the prop library) 6) Set the background image to the image you just made. 7) Make the figure or prop invisible. 8) If the quality is good enough, hit the + to add it to your library: there, a nice thumbnial. 8a) Or, render the scene, paste onto background, then add to your library. Then, edit the figure (or pose or prop) file so it's blank, so people don't click on it later.

I don't know if this would qualify as "best", but it definitely has a point to make. Nudity in image.Thread: Someone PLEASE help with unwanted Flash | Forum: Community Center
Unfortunately, Microsoft (in it's usual "wisdom") does not include a "do not ask me again" checkbox on this window. If they had, you could click "No, I don't want [whatever] downloaded" and "don't ask me anymore". No settings to change, no registry to go through, just a single check box. Excellent link, above, on how to turn off ActiveX controls. Posts #9 and #18 (in that thread) make some very good points.
Thread: (OT - RE: DAZ) Am I missing something? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
{I guess it's for those few who haven't already downloaded PK or winzip..;) } So DAZ is making all their stuff for those three people?? After all, zip files are practically an industry standard. Even Windows 2000 and XP come with built-in support for zip file. Or it could be that DAZ wants to force people to use their folders with their folder names, rather than letting people put stuff where they want.
Thread: Can I render poser4 scenes in Poser5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Once you install Poser 5, you can double-click on any pz3 file and it will open in Poser 5. Keep this in mind if you have Poser 4/ Pro Pack installed on the same machine: Poser 5 changes the registry setting for pz3 files. So, if you double-click and expect Poser 4 to open, you'll get a nice suprise when you see P5 come up.
Thread: (OT - RE: DAZ) Am I missing something? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Here's another idea: create a folder called "Runtime" on your C or D drive. When you sun a DAZ exe file, click the cancel button. Then, when it asks where to install the files, type c: or d:. The installer will drop all the files into c:runtime(wherever). Then just look in the sub-folders to see what it installed. Move the obj file, move the cr2 file, and if you want, dump the 500 MAT poses. You raise a good question, though: why does DAZ make exe files and not ZIPs? ZIPs are so much easier to work with: just extract the files you want and leave the rest.
Thread: Did SR4 fix the file limit???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
{That maybe a ref to the 256 file limit Poser PC has been stuck with for years } Wasn't that issue fixed with the new sub-folders in the Library? Why dump 256 files into 1 folder when you can make sub-folders? Poser 5 will read the sub-folders, no matter how deep, but Poser 4/ Pro Pack can not.
Thread: Stupid P5 Don Trick? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
lesbentley: That's a neat trick. I think that it will be WAY too complicated for someone who deletes entire folders worth of content without knowing what affect it will have. The instructions by ToolmakerSteve are correct and work the same in P4... except that it's the ugly P2 Male that's the default, not Don. A10: The FireFly renderer is not all that it's cracked up to be. Don't forget that there are many things that go into a render besides the render engine. You need a good texture, a good set of lights, and usually good postwork... not to mention a good idea for the image.
Thread: Is it me or Poser5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
{Hey....whaddya mean!! I can run it just fine.....goes really fast tew and I can render 95 figures widout a prublem in less than 10 sexunds!!!"} Hey, how did you know I got Poser 5 to do this? Okay, I'll fess up: I'm really using Windows 95. I was able to render 97 V3 figures in the same scene, in 9.89 seconds. How did I do it? It's very simple: first, I overclocked my PV 3.2Ghz ATI-DZ chip to a motherboard speed of 5.6Ghz @ 135 G cycles per sec. Next, I reconfigured the memBIOS circuit to use a bus speed of 255 Kjls. Next, I resoldered the dip switch to an alternating frequency of 10.45 quads/ cycle. Next, I reconfigued the virtual memory to a setting of 1.22^10 +- my installed memory. And, viola, Poser 5 runs great on Windows 95. I haven't tried on Windows 98, but with these simple modifications, anyone can get Poser 5 to work with Windows 98.
